As an NHL fan and as a keen follower of the NHL series by EA Sports, I was very disappointed by this offering. The graphics were OK but the game just didn't play very well. The menu screens were flummoxing and the commentary when compared to EA's offering, was very wooden and sparse. The OTT throwing of hats onto the rink when a hat trick was scored was probably the games only redeeming quality. A real shame.

The customer from Norwich must be a novice to this genre of gaming. EA's NHL 07 is far too rough around the edges with regards to gameplay. 2k6 plays a lot smoother and is much more friendly to the user when playing the actual matches.I agree that the menu system can be a little baffling to begin with, but I prefer to have a more complex menu and great gameplay rather than a simple menu system and rough gaming (like the EA Sports version of this sport).I will most certainly purchase this product now I have tried it. It appears that the software house has paid a lot of attention to the old SNES versions of EA's NHL Hockey and taken that fantastic gameplay and smoothness, and combined it with nice graphics and cooked up the recipe for a great NHL gaming experience.I am now itching to buy an imported PS2 so I can buy the Baseball game from this software house. No doubt that will be just as playable and I only wished that they had released it for PAL also.
