Brief synopsis of Karas - The Prophecy

Tatsunoko Productions presents 'Karas: The Prophecy', an anime jam-packed with fighting sequences, that takes place in a fictional version of Tokyo, where humans and demons co-exist. As the city's guardian, it is Karas's responsibility to keep all these different forces in balance, a task that proves manageable enough until the power-hungry Eko intervenes at all of Tokyo's expense.

Rated - 4 starsGreat film bad ending

Samuel Hammett from Bath, England , 15/06/2006

This dvd is great. Great fighting and cool and strange story line. The ending was very abrupt. In all fairness there is another section to the story coming soon i belive. It was just dissapointing like when you know you left one beer in the fridge on a hot day knowing its going to be there when you get home then you open the fridge and your brother has drank it! Damn

Rated - 5 starsParts 1 - 3 done only 4 - 6 left!

Kevin Dunne from Milton Keynes, England , 30/06/2006

Some have said about the weird ending of the film as did I. I knew it was a two part film (the second is due 25th September 2006 in the UK) so I excused it, I then found out it was originally a 6 part OVA mixed into two parts. So the ending of this DVD is just the ending of part 3. The next DVD will have the final 3 parts and I cannot wait till September now.

The film itself is brilliant and there are a lot of things happening that you can't make sense of and it tends to explain this as the movie progresses. The graphics and story is brilliant and once you get to grips what's going on you really get a feel for the film.

This is a great film for hardcore anime fans and mild anime fans alike. Watch it!

Rated - 4 starskaras

jaffa4 from surrey , 19/05/2006

karas is an amazing manga film. The fight scenes are beautiful and the animation leaves very little to be desired. The one gripe I have about the film is that the story can be alittle hard to follow at times with the director jumping about a bit. This does not affect the result very much at all. A must for any one who likes the epic martial art style films. the sequel will also be out shortly, completeing the story.

Dragilex from Manchester [Highly rated reviewer] , 10/09/2006

This really is first rate anime. the story is fantastic although like antoher reviewer correctly stated this disc is an unfinished story. Do not rent both discs of this Karas as they are the same film, Doh! Can't wait for the next part.
