Brief synopsis of Big Momma's House 2

Martin Lawrence returns as cross-dressing undercover fed Malcolm Turner in this good-natured sequel to the 2000 comedy hit. This time, Malcolm is working a desk job because his wife (Nia Long) wants him safe. But when his old partner is killed, Malcolm just has to dust off the momma suit and take a nanny job with a family whose workaholic dad (Tom Fuller) is the chief suspect. The kids all have problems: Kevin (Zachary Levi) likes jumping off high places and eating sand; Carrie (Chloe Moretz) needs help with her cheerleading routine; the sullen 15-year old, Molly (Kat Dennings), is turning to punk rock to get the attention of an older boy; and the pet chihuahua is pining for his old love. Big Momma Malcolm is in a position to help all of them, as well as solve the case, but meanwhile his jealous (and very pregnant wife) is on the rampage, thinking her man is off with another woman. There's something wondrous about the sight of Lawrence dressed up as a big old wizened, sassy nanny punching out bad guys, zipping around on a jet ski, splashing mud on gorgeous models at a ritzy spa, or running in slow motion along the beach in an oversize bathing suit he seems to be having a ball. John Whitesell directs with a sure hand, letting the comedy flow freely and easily without gross-out humour or cheap shots, making this film succeed as both raucous farce and genuinely heartwarming family comedy.

Rated - 3 starsGood, but not a PG in my opinion

I hadn't seen the first film so I wasn't sure what to expect however I thought it was quite a funny film, not too americanish and a good story. However, I went with an 8 year old and a ten year old and I did think the rating was wrong. My 8 year has watched 12a rated films such as Harry Potter which has been fine, but although she wasn't scared with this film obviously, I did think there was too much sexual innuendos, the odd swear word and too many guns to be a PG. I was about to order Big Momma 1 despite this fact but I noticed that this is a 15! In my opinion, Big Momma 2 should be a 15 rated film. Hope this is helpful to parents with under 9's.

my daughter loved this dvd. Martin Lawrence returns in this sequel as cross dressing undercover federal agent Malcolm Turner.

Malcolm has a desk job because his wife wants to keep him safe. But when his old partner is killed, Malcolm just has to dust off the momma suit and take a nanny job, with a family whose workaholic dad (played by Tom Fuller) is the chief suspect.

The kids all have problems: Kevin (played by Zachary Levi) likes jumping off high places and eating sand;

Carrie (played by Chloe Moretz) needs help with her cheerleading routine;

Molly (played by Kat Dennings), is a 15 year old, turning to punk rock to get the attention of an older boy;

and the pet chihuahua is pining for his old love.

Big Momma Malcolm is in a position to help all of them, as well as solve the case, but meanwhile his jealous and very pregnant wife, is on the rampage, thinking her husband, has gone off with another woman.

Mayhem ensues. Well worth renting out.

The first film was great, if you love a modern-day Carry On sort of film. But this sequel is pretty hopeless. It's certainly not as funny and dwells for far too long on all-American morals and, you know, their yucky family fakeness.
