There's something here, but you have to wade through an awful lot of twentysomething angst to find it. Three women and a gay man share a house in LA, and through the various flashbacks to which we are subjected, it's established that none of them are very nice people. Sandra Bullock and Rae Dawn Chong lend some limited class to this tale of desperation and manipulation, but in the end it's too confusing, petty, and exploitative to maintain interest. Do we really need to see Michael Landes (the original Jimmy Olsen in the Lois & Clark TV show) as a teenage alcoholic?

Surprised we managed to persevere for so long - out dated and tedious to watch

Rated - 3 starsDisjointed but not terrible either

If you like films such as Reality Bites, or you are a Sandra Bullock fan, then you might like this film. It is a little disjointed in the sense that you never really understand why these 3 girls are friends in the first place, plus there is this the obligatory gay best friend who seems to be there for no reason other than to have a gay character. I found myself fast forwarding over the storylines involving Rae Dawn Chong - a most unsympathetic character - and Elizabeth Berridge as the doormat social worker.

I really liked the Sandra Bullock story, though, and her romance with the off-beat performance artist, Alexander Midnight, is fun and charming. It is interesting to see her in a role before she became mega-star famous. Overall, 3 stars - Sandra saves this movie from train wreck status!

I don't care what the others say - I loved this film! Yes, it's early-90s cheesy, but it's got a little bit of everything. It's also heavy on the contemporary art, which will always get me interested. Sandra Bullock and paint - who could ask for more?

I love Sandra Bullocks films but was quite disappointed with this one. Its watchable but not one of her best. Very slow with little storyline.
