Brief synopsis of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter

The face of war has changed. Enemy lines blur, and there is no longer a clear opponent. New enemies and new threats require a new type of warfare - a new type of soldier. Enter the Ghosts.

In 2013, the U.S. Army will implement the Integrated Warfighter System (IWS), evolving what we know as the modern soldier. IWS combines advanced weapon systems, satellite communication devices and enhanced survivability into one fully integrated combat system. The IWS program has been developed to meet these new threats head on. Now, it can be tested on the battlefield.

Following an insurgence in the heart of Mexico City, the U.S. Armys most elite Special Forces team is deployed to the center of the conflict to regain control of the city. Greatly outnumbered but fully equipped with the IWS, this elite team is the first and last line of defense on the battlefield. They are the Quiet professionals. They are the Ghosts.

Key Features

  • Next-generation gaming technology: Ghost ReconŽ 3 is built from the ground up for next-generation consoles, taking full advantage of powerful technology with amazing textures, lighting and particle effects, multi-windowing and state-of-the-art physics. • Become the soldier of the future: Gain access to the future of military technology. Using a fully integrated combat system with cutting-edge weapons and revolutionary communication systems (see below), gamers will embody the soldier of the future. Based on actual U.S. Army research, the Ghosts give gamers a realistic view of how war will be fought in the next decade.

Rated - 5 starsStrategic Action

Although the game has a few minor glitches it stands out as one of the best titles for the Xbox 360.

Outstanding levels of realism and immersion engulf you as you proceed your way through 11 missions using all the tactics and resources available to you.

The graphics, character models and animation are amazing as are the environments and lighting effects.

On top of that you also get a fully featured online multiplayer version of the game allowing up to 16 players playing simultaneously.

Rent this and stick it on maximum priorty. You won't regret it.

Rated - 5 starsGetting better!

A customer from Surrey, England , 12/02/2007

after owning and playing ghost recon in HD, you will never want a differnt game. with stunning graphics online and off this game is an all round 10/10. the game play is intence and a great game to get into. as you enter the game on a training field the action starts as you take control of the 'ghost' leader, you battle it out on the ruined streets to acuire a breifcase which they call the 'football'. buying/renting this version not only lets you play this incredible game online and off but allows you to use the new online maps and even new weapons like the amazing 'silenced SR sniper'. if your a fan of action, i ensure you will love this game.

Rated - 3 starsA thinking mans war game

carl28 from Burgess Hill , 04/06/2007

Having not played any of the Tom Clany games before, my expectations of this game were way off when i came to play it. Although i found it very enjoyable to play, and the graphics are excellent, i would say that it would be more appreciated by the more strategic gamer, as oposed to the blast first, ask questions later type gamer.

Quite taxing at times, its definately worth playing, especially if you find yourself with a fair few hours to get stuck into it

Rated - 1 starsBetter Nights In

Jonathanat38 from Brandon [Highly rated reviewer] , 04/07/2007

I did not like this game, I have had better nights in, I found the controls and instructions quite hard to fathom, I did not like the manoevability, I found the character clumsy, I thought the graphics could have been a lot better, I thought the levels of realism were non existent, In comparison to some Xbox 360 games the graphics could have been a lot better, maybe that comes with time, it was not in my machine for very long. I did not get past the training level. But I appreciate I rented the title so I did not have to buy it!
