I've been playing and loving the Tiger Woods games for three years straight -- 03, 04, 05. I basically upgrade for the new courses and tweaks and additions. But this version's totally different. It sucks.

The thing is, they've completely re-engineered the swing mechanics -- for the worst. In the past, it worked like real golf and reflected the physics of a clubface on a ball. Which made it more athletic and true to life.

You could shape/curve the ball by swinging the joysticks like you swing a club -- outside-in for a fade, and inside-out for a draw. Feel and touch mattered just like they do in the real sport, and by practicing, you could gain finesse and precision over shot-shaping and scoring.

Now it sucks. It doesn't reflect the sport at all. Plus it requires your left hand to swing (?). It's also over-comlplex and requires a third hand if you want to use the power boost.

Trust me, if you want the greatest golf game ever made, buy a used copy of a previous version. 2005's probably the best. You can play it forever. With this one, a couple minutes is too long.
