Brief synopsis of Survive Style 5+

Three storylines are threaded together in this offbeat Gen Sekiguchi film. A man is left believing he is a bird when the hypnotist is murdered during his act; a group of burglars deal with their mutual desires for each other as they patrol the streets; and a wife that has been murdered by her husband returns from the dead to destroy him using missile arms and breathing fire.

Insane, funny, mad, nasty, unpredictable, romantic, bizarre and colourful.

Contains scenes of murder, hypnotism, smoking, stabbing, commercials, flying, eating, bird imitation, Vinnie Jones and some dodgy toothed gay guy.

5+ star rating. This is a seriously insane movie. Love the soundtrack too.

Rated - 5 starsWhat a roller coaster of a movie!!

A customer from London, UK , 05/04/2006

SS5+ is an amazingly engaging, funny, and fast-paced film. The surreal sense of humour, amazing soundtrack and extraordinarily rich color make for a truly enjoyable experience.

This is an artisticly impressive film, that also manages to engage and entertain--just the way art should be...

Rated - 4 starsExtremely entertaining

DJM666 from Walsall , 05/06/2006

A great film, which is very entertaining, very original, has an interesting plot (five different stories which become intertwined was the movie progresses), is funny, and has some surprisingly good emotion & meaning towards the end. The film is also full of great looking sets, has a good soundtrack, and a good & interesting cast (Tadanobu Asano, Sonny Chiba, Vinnie Jones). Some parts of the film are hit-and-miss and feel unnecessary, but on the whole the movie is great fun and very entertaining & enjoyable viewing – highly recommended!

Rated - 5 starsPleaseing to the eyeball, but nonsensical...

snesgirl from London, UK , 07/09/2006

Five interlinked stories about surreal happenings to (mostly) ordinary and dysfunctinal people in Japan. The cinematrography is lush, the colours almost jump off of the screen, but the Directors roots in advertising show through with frantic jump cuts and a non-sensical overall plot.
