Adrian Paul, star of the Highlander TV series, has a nice line in deadpan humour as a Polish bloodsucker teaming-up with vampire-hating cop Bokeem Woodbine in this slickly enjoyable futuristic thriller. Taking obvious visual inspiration from John Woo, Tony Scott, Terry Gilliam and the Wachowski brothers, director Michael Oblowitz adds an impressive surface sheen to a fast-paced effort, shot in moody Budapest locations. Beneath the novelty window-dressing, it's merely a standard, formulaic buddy movie, but there are a few noteworthy narrative touches, such as the on-screen computer displays introducing each new vampire character and Paul's poignant wartime origin. A more entertaining package than the straight-to-video tag suggests.

Very Low Budget. I expected better acting from the Highlander. You'll want to turn off half way through....or at least make some tea for a break. Shame there isn;t a no star rating. One to miss!

Rated - 3 stars'Blade'ish action

Not a bad movie to entertain you on a weekday, however it has some serious downfalls that make you lose interest and concentration. One major thing is the excessive usage of slow-motion. It's almost all through the movie - as if we want to see all motion details - and it kind of diverts your attention from the movie to the popcorn in your hand.

Was scratched badly through the end so couldn't see the end.

One scene is worth watching if you're a nitpicker like me. It's the scene where the car flips and causes an accident. You see first scene in the day time, and the scene where car is flying is taken at night, then it reverts back to daytime. What a mistake!!! :)

Not bad as a movie in general though. Acting is good, and the plot is average.

Rated - 1 starsMore a mongrel than a breed

A strange movie. It’s a Hungarian-made vampire film shot in those peculiar greenish-grey tone that a few people seem to think is atmospheric and creepy.

Everything goes in the pot including police buddies, a mad scientist and a kung fu kicking femme fatale. What comes out is a thick stodgy amateurish mess with no discernable plot.

The end sequence is clearly set up as an invitation to press for a continuing TV series. No takers? What a surprise!

Rated - 1 starsJust won't keep you entertained long enough to watch the end

I'm a big fan of good vampire movies like BLADE but this is a very poor man's version. The fact that money was tight in the making of this film is clear right the way through and the acting is very poor indeed. The plot doesn't save it either, I just lost interest in it well before the end.
