Brief synopsis of Rush Hour 2

Crime fighting has never been so hazardous--or funny. Chopsocky action star Jackie Chan reteams with motormouth Chris Tucker in this RUSH HOUR sequel as the mismatched cop duo investigate several bombings in Hong Kong attributed to Chinese gang leader Ricky Tan (John Lone) and an assassin (Zhang Ziyi), whose beautiful, balletic kick packs a head-ringing wallop. A fish out of water in exotic Hong Kong, Tucker talks his way into reams of trouble, saved time and again by Chan's frantic fighting. Though the two detectives are taken off the bombing case, unpaid debts between Chan and the criminals lead the detectives back to the U.S. and into the middle of an international counterfeiting racket that only Chan and Tucker can expose. Fans of the first RUSH HOUR can't miss this hilarious sequel, and buddy-cop movie aficionados will recognize the dazzling zingers slammed back and forth between Chan and Tucker as the true sign of a winning film.

Amiable sequel that makes little demands on its audience, other than lie back and enjoy the fights and racial bickering between the two leads.

Rated - 5 starsAs I said with Pt.1 this also is SUPERB!!

A customer from North London , 17/11/2005

Chan & Tucker go again..... Another outing, another pairing, action, wit, jokes, silliness, seriousness all thrown in for good measure. Comedy is for all to watch, its better watching it in company, and people with a sense of humour and vision - saying that, just to even see 'Chan' execute perfect martial arts choreography and he chucks out a joke or 3 along with 'Tucker' being his funny foolish self! Bottom line, if you dont like black comics with a kinda street comedy humour, this will not be your cup of tea, if you're open minded, go watch Part 1 first, I promise you, its comedy at a very high level, again, Jackie Chan's not brilliant english, itself plays its part in knowing that he steps up a level in adding humour value along with his martial arts expertise. For me Tucker again is excellent, its action, again, to do with organised crime, searching them out, as this time Tucker goes to Hong Kong in Chan's territory - JUST GET IT FOR THE OUTTAKES, they are hilarious as with Part 1 also.

Not a bad film but was a bit disappointed. Suppose you would put this down as a classic to pass the time.

Rated - 4 starsAn equal not a sequel

A customer from Westcliff, England , 22/10/2004

So you've seen the first film, now here comes more of the same. It is straight into the action and plot with this follow up, since the characters have already been introduced in the previous outing. Do not let that put you off, you could quite easily watch this film without having seen the first film beforehand.

This film is how sequels should be shot, another adventure rather than a follow up. How many people have watched the Bond films in order, the same applies here.

The Jackie Chan fast action Kung fu slap-stick is mirrored by the wisecracks from the equally fast paced mouth of Chris Tucker.

If you enjoy Jackie's films you will not be disappointed and if some of you are feeling a little put of by Chris Tucker then don't - give this film a go.

More of this please Jackie!

Rated - 3 starsCop chaos this time in Hong Kong...

PaulaWestwood from Ashton-Under-Lyne [Highly rated reviewer] , 10/08/2007

This outing sees our not so super, super sleuths, caught up in a triad filled Hong Kong, on Chans territory thinks are very different for Tucker as he commits one feux pas after another in the highly honor bound China.

Once again a really entertaining fest of action, pranks and fun keep you glued to your seat for another recommended glimpse of cop chaos.

Fairly predictable stuff but entertaining. The plot is very similar to the 1st a few detail changes but the format is almost identical. Worth renting as you may have forgotten the 1st film if you're like my wife. And Before long the 3rd film will be out.
