Brief synopsis of Blazing Angels: Squadrons of World War II

Blazing Angels is an arcade-style flight sim set in World War II, and enables players to jump right into air combat action, and work their way up from being a rookie through to an ace squadron leader. The game enables players to experience the most gripping and famous battles of WWII through the eyes of a squadron commander and ace fighter pilot. From the battle for England, the attack on Pearl Harbor, to the bombing of Berlin, your pilot skills will create WWII history. Whether it's the invasion of the Philippines, the fierce fighting for the deserts of North Africa, or the battle of Britain, the player and his squadron are tasked with turning the tide of war. The player's objective is to conquer the skies of Western Europe, North Africa, and the Pacific and bring his squadron back alive. The game features innovative squadron-based gameplay, with AI-controlled wingmen obeying the player's commands. Plus, as the pilot's skills improve, so will the skills of his squadron. The pilot's heroism and leadership skills also grow during the course of the campaign as players fly with their squadron and try to evolve together into an ace fighting force. Pilots can choose from a range of 40 authentic WWII aircraft including the famous P-51 Mustang, the P-38 Lightning, the B-17 Flying Fortress, the Luftwaffe's Messerschmitt, the Supermarine Spitfire and the Japanese Zero. From the wing rivets to the nose art and the detailed cockpits, these planes are just like the real thing. Players guide their squadrons through 20 heart-stopping missions, beginning as untrained recruits and evolving through battle experience into ace combat pilots. The game's authentic WWII atmosphere allows players to get in close to Germany's industrial terrain for a bombing raid, strafe the islands of the pacific, or emerge from the cloud cover over London and engage the enemy. The learning curve of the game is also very easy - this is a pick up and play arcade-style flight sim, not one which needs a phone book-sized manual and a month to learn. Players can also experience Blazing Angels on Xbox Live with up to 19 other players online, engaging in either head-to-head dogfights or in cooperative team play.

good game...easy to play..good graphics (maybe not exactly next gen)..

unfortunatly it seems to be lacking any logentivity and can be compleated end to end in very little time, just when your getting warmed up the game is over.

deffinatly worth a hire for a week..not worth purchasing.

From start to finish this is an awsome game. Graphics great and each different airplane handles differently. This is the best WWII flight sim game I have ever played and I have played almost all. Definately a game to get / rent. The only shame is this was an Xbox game and the 360 version is exaclty the same.

a good world war2 flying game however it gets a bit repetitive and boring. Plus it lacks achievements, as there is only 7.

Worth renting but don't buy it.

Rated - 1 starYou call this a game???!

I rented this thinking it look half decent but i couldnt have been more wrong. This is a terrible game. The voices are annoying and tedious and worst of all this game looks like an original xbox game, one of the worst graphically i have seen for a while. In short avoid this game and play crimson skies.
