This is an excellent game for younger kids with minimal violence and the only things that actually die are giant spiders; the other animals are only put to sleep for a short period. It is very easy to play and the hero, Skrat, is such an unfortunate character that you just can't help but like him. The game is graphically beautiful glitch free. It's not very long though, but I suppose that is fine for a children's game.

I loved this game! I might be a bit childish but at nearly 18, I think I can safely say this is one game that certainly kept me (and my mum!) occupied for a while! You play throughout the game as Scrat, but can play as Sid (I can't remember if any of the others can be played) in minigames. Progressing through the game as Scrat, you meet all of the other characters along the way, and the game has really cool little clip scenes that cut in every now and then. I would definately advise giving this game a chance. Who knows, you might just enjoy it.
