Brief synopsis of Flight 93

Based on the now-notorious events of September 11, 2001, FLIGHT 93 tells the harrowing true story of United Airlines Flight 93 and the moments leading up to its crash. Shot in real time, the film shows how terrorists managed to commandeer the cockpit with the intention of turning a routine flight into a suicide mission. As the petrified passengers plan to fight back, the US military scrambles into action in a frantic bid to save the plane from the inevitable. On the surface, there isn’t a great deal to distinguish this film from Paul Greengrass' UNITED 93, which deals with the same subject matter. Both films make for uneasy viewing for obvious reasons, but the low-budget FLIGHT 93 is gripping in its own right.

Whenever I hear (or read) the words 'TV Movie' the word 'rubbish' usually springs to mind. But I have just finished watching Flight 93 (not to be confused with United 93) and I have to say it's better than some blockbusters I have watched.Made for the A&E Network in the USA by Fox (Type A&E Flight 93 into google to take you to the A&E website for the film & a preview) this was engrossing and passed the watch test.(How long does it take you to see what time is left).Although it does have the American cheese/gloss on the film (like most blockbusters)I have to say this is well worth a rent.

Rated - 5 starsExcellent Film

I do not normally rate highly any American-produced films, but Flight 93 is considered to be one of my all-time favourites. The film made me feel that I was in that aircraft with those on-board; it did not have the usual feel of a film, more of a documentary. One thing I noticed was that they did not play any background music until the very end, which heightened the mood of the film. The film really shows the heroism showed by all on that doomed-aircraft, and the selfless acts to protect their nation. A must watch in my opinion.

Rated - 3 starsShould They Or Shouldn't They Have Made This Film?

A customer from Stockport, Cheshire , 01/05/2006

I think it should have been banned to be honest, because they are making money out of what happened. As they haven't banned it, I thought I may as well watch it. On the other hand I think they should continue to show it as it shows how slow the US government were to take any action. Disturbing, haunting, terrifying, this film is not the film to watch if you have nightmare's or phobias about aeroplanes. It is not a documentary, it is a film that reconstructs what happened to United Flight 93 on September 11th. Being extremely upset and tearful was only a fraction of what I felt whilst watching this film. It was reconstructed extremely well, although one can not even begin to imagine everything those poor people went through, by using evidence from various sources the film helps us to see and understand what went on from the evidence they have.

Powerfully emotional as this film recreats what happened on that fateful flight.

The film takes us through the whole series of events that unfolded on that day.

I did have a lump in my throat in the last 30 minutes (although it ends in tragedy) I wanted the passengers to succeed in taking back control.

Just okay really not as exciting as I thought it would be, a true story which is of course very sad. Looking forward to seeing the other version (United 93) to compare the two together. Okay but nothing to write home about

This is a touching movie and is filmed and directed in a kind and sensitive way. It moved me to tears. Not to be confused with United 93...Both a must see.
