Saw this on a flight to Malaysia. This average drama has a good performance from Pacino but it is his usual bulstering larger than life characterisation we have seen in many of his films. He won't be winning any wards for this movie. I usually like Matthew Mc but in this film he seems to be going through the motions. Plot was average, not much excitement. The script and exchanges between characters were ok. Not really much else to say about this average film.

Just finished watching this film and really enjoyed it.The two main characters of the film ,Al pacino and Mathew Mconaughey had a real chemistry thing going on , and at times had the hairs on my neck standing up! If you're a gambler you're gonna love this movie, having said that this film has enough going for it to entice anybody.well worth a look.

It was enjoyable, watchable fun while it lasted. A few weeks later and I can't really remember any individual scenes but I know I liked it while it was on. Worth it for one viewing.

Surprisingly not as predictable a film as you would expect it to be based on it's face value alone. If you're thinking it's along the same kind of lines as Jerry 'show me the money' Maguire, you'd be very much mistaken. Which can only be a good thing. =]

In my eyes a film with (the legendary) Al Pacino, Mr 'abs of steel' McConaughey and Rene Russo has to, by forfeit alone, if anything, be a winner. Which is why I added it to my rental list.

I was surprised at how much depth was achieved on such a, typically, superficial subject. Sports. Specifically:- sports gambling. Riviting stuff, no? But all that aside, you end up caring about the characters. Caring about whether the New York Giants win or loose. Caring that, in the end, everything ends up ok.

Definitely a rollercoaster ride of a film; with more downs then there are ups.

Yet more confirmation, if it were needed, that Al Pacino has forgotten what a good script looks like. This is a very predictable movie with a morally questionable ending that seems unwilling to condemn the people responsible for helping families lose everything.

You may like it, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Ha, see what I did there?
