Brief synopsis of Sensible Soccer 2006

Just in time for the 2006 World Cup in Germany, the veteran gamers' favourite football-fest is back. Sensible Soccer 2006 returns with a modern take on its famous zoomed out camera and intuitive control system, giving you total 360-degree control over your players' movement and shots. The game has a distinctive graphical style, including cel-shaded players that each have the classic Sensible Soccer enlarged heads. This will no doubt appeal to both fans of the series and newcomers too.

Sensible Soccer 2006 has over 5,500 players and 350 different international and European club teams to choose from. There is also a multiplayer option for up to four players to participate in, including two player co-operative teams and 50 preset competitions from all over the world for gamers to get their teeth into.

The gameplay is extremely fast, thus making every fraction of a second of a game really count. Gamers can expect flowing passing movements, and plenty of tricks, including dummies and backheels. You can also execute pinpoint accurate shooting with controllable loft, bend and dip. In Sensible Soccer 2006, gamers have semi control over goalkeepers that can rush out and position walls at free kicks.

Gamers can also create DIY competitions allowing near-unlimited variations of leagues, cups and tournaments.

The update of the classic sensible socer is a great fun game for anyone to enjoy from young kids to grown people like myself. Theres no real clubes or names but that doesnt matter. Theres two playing modes, normal socer and crazy socer where everything goes fast in the spirit of classic sonsible soccer.

I would recomend this to anyone who want something really good to play to pass the time and have fun!

As a Sensi soccer veteran, i'd put off renting this as it could never live up to the legend that was SWOS 96/97. Unfortunately all i did by renting and playing this was prove myself right. Not even a scratch on the original(s).

The only concelation is the fact that Codemasters are due to release SWOS onto the Xbox Live Arcade soon, at least that version is the best version of the beautiful game.

I really wouldn't recommend renting it, very disappointing... I didn't even last 10 minutes playing it.

Almost a carbon copy of the PS2...This in its day was THE footie game...but its day was long ago and it should have been laid to rest. outdated gameplay, poor graphics and no long term appeal...roll on PES6!!
