Brief synopsis of The Eel

Effects maestro turned director delivers a masterful short. An eel thrashes around in his undersized tank - as its form rapidly outgrows its environment, its angry mutation reaches monstrous proportions. Dominic Hailstone's eerie imagination runs riot in this organic horror short.

Advice: This film contains scenes that may be frightening for children.

Really creepy and quite disturbing without really showing you why!!

The creatures evolution is magnificent and horrifying and the music captures the mood perfectly.

A mini masterpiece and quite haunting.

Rated - 3 starsShort Horror Story

This is a short horror film produced by Dominic Hailstone. The black and white cinematography is very good, with effective but sinister use of lighting and of the artificial, claustrophobic surroundings. This film reminded me of David Lean's 'Eraserhead' and at times had a primal or psychotic quality. The music was used to very good effect also and I would recommend this although the audience should be prepared for an anxiety provoking experience.
