Brief synopsis of Oedipus

No film called Oedipus can ever end happily. A hand-warming tale of love, incest and death. Warning: may contain traces of poetry. Advice: This film contains scenes of an adult nature and strong language. Rated - 5 starsCringe making funny and accomplished

What a great short piece! So funny it's easy to overlook just how accomplished were the film makers, and particularly the poet/performer in structuring a narrative taking us on a quick trip from Sophocles through Freud to every boy's top two nightmares - all in six minutes. You'll never forget to bolt the bathroom door again!

Rated - 5 starsPerformance Poetry at it's best!

Put the word 'masturbation' into a worst case scenario...No, worse than that!...Keep going...Getting warmer!

This knocks the urban myth about wearing headphones and finding a cup of tea and a Kit-Kat on your bedside cabinet into a (excuse the phrase) cocked hat!

Not for the easily offended, but incredibly funny in a cringeworthy sort of way!

Rated - 2 starsUnnecessary and Not for under 18's

justinmarley from Sheffield [Highly rated reviewer] , 23/04/2008

This is a 6-minute film with good film-making technique and a confident lead actor. The film explains the Oedipus Complex very competently in what seems like a few seconds. However I thought there were bits of it that were distasteful and unnecessary and this spoilt the whole film for me and I wouldn't watch it again. Call me a bit conservative!
