I found this awful....i kept thinking about the fantastic original film, i couldn't help it because the storyline was pretty much copied. The actors were very unconvincing and i didn't care what happened to them (unlike Shelly Winters in the original), the script was very basic throughout with one liners like 'there must be another way out' or 'quick the waters rising' all said without much conviction, i'm afraid i didn't feel for any of them at all. Very very poor re-make IMO, i wouldn't recommend it unless perhaps you hadn't seen the original.

Rated - 3 starsA sinking ship

Mbub from Westbury, Wilts , 30/04/2007

This film is about a ship that is hit by a tidal wave and how some of the passengers get off it before it sinks.

This film felt like it just wanted to end quickly and it didn't matter if you got the plot or not. Although I watched until the end, hence 3 stars I there was nothing there that would make me buy this movie, or even watch again. 3 stars for me is average and thats what this film is.

Rated - 5 starsA Very Nice Re-make

Tony from Chigwell, Essex , 07/06/2006

I was a bit dubious about watching a re-make of a very good film, they are usually a let down. I was pleasantly surprised with this movie though, the story was slightly different not much, the plot was the same, but it was well thought about how to bring this classic up to date with out going over the top and spoiling it. So in all, Great movie defiantly worth a watch.

Rated - 4 starsYou need a bigger TV

Xallix from West Midlands , 13/06/2006

I can rememeber watching the origiinal on all those bank holidays growing up, listening to people whinge about the repetativenes. I loved it

This a well structured, powerfull, special effects laden masterpeice (almost). Its up there with the original, the only draw back is I think maybe it won't have the same effect on the small screen, so go buy a big tv!

This is a wonderful take on the disaster genre, one which will probably haunt our childrens bank holidays for years to come.

How many remakes has this had... lol... Only got it out of curiosity, and essentially it's just another re-hash with no vast improvements. Average viewing.
