Brief synopsis of LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy

LEGO Star Wars: The Original Trilogy follows the Rebel Alliance's battle to dismantle the Galactic Empire and rebuild a galaxy in pieces. From Darth Vader's pursuit of Princess Leia aboard her Blockade Runner to a showdown on the reconstructed Death Star, the game includes even more of the family-friendly LEGO action, puzzles and humor that earned the original LEGO Star Wars such popularity and acclaim. And much more new to offer, it still has. For the first time ever, levels feature vehicles and creatures that players can ride or exit at will. Also, in LEGO Star Wars's Free Play mode, gamers can customize more than 50 new playable characters by mixing and matching body parts, to build their own LEGO Star Wars heroes. And on certain platforms, a game save from the first LEGO Star Wars can unlock as many as 56 additional characters for Free Play - that's more than 100 characters total, plus millions of possible creations! Other exciting additions include the ability to Free Play with vehicles, cool new character-specific attacks and maneuvers, playable mini-kit vehicles, an optional advanced mode for experienced players and more.

The title pretty much says it all. If your lucky enough to still get away with playing real lego or if your a bit too old for it, this will appeal. Especially if your a star wars fan too. It's very easy to play (far too easy for veteran gamers) even if your about 5 and the control method is simple. It's worryingly addictive ( I returned it the same day and then went out and bought it) and my son loves it so much, I haven't seen the PSP or him for days.

The only real problem I had was not having the instructions Initially, I didn't get the full scope of the game. So if you're going to rent it, have a quick butchers at a walkthrough online to uncover some of the games other features. It's great.

What can I say about this game that doesn't sound like I work for the company that produced it, lol. It's brilliant.

The graphics are excellent, the control system is intuitive, particularly when switching between characters.

Ordinarily I hate games with multiple characters on screen at the same time - this one is different, only the character you are controlling can deal out and receive damage - but the others keep up and don't get in the way. And will help where necessary (usually when 2 switches need to be thrown at once)

Basically it's the entire first three films, in lego. When you smash things or shoot things they break into little lego blocks, . The characters are all made of lego as are the ships, walkers etc.

And it all really works.

The storylines have been tweaked slightly with a huge amount of humour thrown in.

My favourite scene: darth vader arrives on the still being built (supposedly) death start mk II and the camera cuts to an area that's cordoned off with barriers where some workmen are having their lunch, while another swivels round on a chair. Darth stares and then carries on while behind him the deathstar commander starts to cry on the shoulder of his second in command. it's a lot better on the psp lol

This game has everything: it's a 3d platformer in parts, a puzzler in parts and a shoot em up when you're flying the falcon, landspeeder, x-wing or the thing that wraps up the big walkers legs.

All the characters have their own strengths and weaknesses and you need to learn to use them all.

I played this game all the way through and will go back to play certain levels in freeplay.

No drawbacks known :-)

get it, play it, love it.

Review for PSP

This is a good game, i really enjoyed it, but unfortunatly i had problems saving my progress, even though i had 3 & a half gigs left on the memory stick it requested i had 256kb free in order to save the game!!

This meant i only had a couple of hours playing time at a time, and had to start from the begining every time!

I suspect this is a formating issue with the memory card rather than any fault of the game or the umd i had :( otherwise i would have bought this game for my collection!

As for the game its self, it nice & smooth and tracks the basic line of the original films, dropping in the old animated lego version clip of the films as you go.

think i'll have to watch the trilogy again now!

happy gaming
