Brief synopsis of Dead Man's Curve

Chris and Tim are a couple of struggling college students whose hopes of getting into Harvard are fading fast. That is, until they discover a little-known college charter that grants them straight 'A' grades should their roommate Rand, kill himself. So, figuring that Rand deserves to die anyway, Chris and Tim plan to murder him and make it look like he took his own life.

This twisted comedy thriller becomes addictive viewing thanks to the mesmerising performance of Matthew Lillard. He plays a student who discovers that his college has an unspoken rule that, should a student commit suicide, those sharing his room will be awarded perfect grades for the rest of the academic year to compensate for the trauma they have suffered. In true Shallow Grave fashion, Lillard conspires with fellow student Michael Vartan to bump off Randall Batinkoff in order to progress up the academic ladder, but this is only the beginning of double-crossing, back-stabbing and murder on campus. Written and directed with a wicked gleam in his eye by Dan Rosen, this also features Keri Russell and Dana Delany.

the first time i saw this film was a few years ago,and when i saw it on screeenselect i remembered that i liked it,but having seen it for the second time,i cant, for the life of me think why.some good actors, granted, lilliard does his usual, cool but weird guy,but that is about it.maybe if they stoped it one twist before the end(you will know what i mean when you have seen it)then it probably would have been quite good, but as it stands, it just leaves you confused and tired trying to figure out if all that was even possible.all in all i theink it has just tried to be a wee bit too clever and ended up tripping itself over.

watch it if there is nothing on, but take it with a pinch of salt.

This film is absolutely great. Not only does it have a great cast (including the lovely Michael Vartan of Alias fame) the plot developments are well thought out and truly surprising.

This is a black comedy that has so many twists and turns which always has you wondering what's around the corner. Towards the end of the movie, you're shocked and during the end credits you'll be turning the story over in your mind just trying the make sense of it!

Excellent film. Twists and turns like a twisty turny thing.

Rated - 5 starsUnderrated Classic Gem

Caught this movie when it was initially released. I raved about it then, and I would recommend it to anyone now.

Made in 1997, it starred Matthew Lillard (perfecting the role he has played verbatim ever since) and Michael Vartan (Alias) as roommates who discover that their grades improve automatically if a fellow room mate commits suicide.

Dark, funny and enough twists to keep you watching.

Highly recommended. Seek out this little known movie and enjoy.
