I basically rented this because I think Viggo Mortensen is a bit of a fox - I've now learned my lesson that this is not a good enough reason to rent a film. This is terrible; and not in a 'so bad it's good' kind of a way. The only good to come from me watching this film is to be able to tell other people not to.

Viggo Mortensen aside (who, yes, is wonderful), this film is very watchable. The cinematography is imaginative and captures this passionate martial Japanese society. The action is well done, and the plot credible.

Coming back to Viggo Mortensen (and why not), he really shows the quiet intensity of his acting in this movie. He is utterly compelling and very convincing as the undercover FBI agent who becomes seduced by the people he is infiltrating. Any fan of Viggo should definitely get this film; fans of a solid thriller should give it a go too.

If you are a fan of the gorgeous Viggo you will not be disapointed.

The story isn't too bad, if a little predictable.

I quite enjoyed it but it will never win an academy award with regards to the acting!

However, if you are looking for a film that isn't too taxing on the brain then this is the film for you.

Thin, simple-minded plot connecting violent set-pieces. No cliche unturned. I rented it because Viggo (Aragorn) is in it. He and the main Japanese actor are good, but the rest of this unconvincing film is a waste of time.

this film was a bit thought provoking an outsider not knowing where his loyalty lies an overall good storyline about betrayl and the like great fighting scenes.
