Rated - 4 starsThese cases are anything but cold...

Okay, I realise I may be a little biased seeing as I am a huge fan of this brilliant crime drama but I swear the series are just getting better and better. The storylines are just as engrossing as in previous series but have a freshness to them and never fail to please. They are written intelligently and flow effortlessly through light-hearted banter and touching sub-plots to real edge-of-your-seat, nail-biting action.

The best thing about Waking The Dead is probably the well developed characters. In this series they really come into their own and their relationships become more complex. (In particular that of Superintendent Boyd and DC Silver). The audience can connect with them as they have a warmth to them that many cop thrillers fail to give.

WTD remains a fine example of what the BBC can do when it really puts it's mind to it!

Well acted, good attention to detail in storylines, achieves individual stories well within context of being part of a series.

Very enjoyable, two one hour programmes per disc, just right for a pile of ironing!
