Brief synopsis of Chrysanthemums the Word
They have an argument. Later, she receives some flowers. She forgives him. They make love. Then he suddenly remembers something crucial...
All this in 15 seconds.
The story behind the film
The poem in the film was written by 'The Bosun and The Steward'. The Bosun is my father. He and The Steward were on a long voyage to the Med on a boat many years ago when they made up the poem based on an event that had happened to the Steward. (My dad also works in entertainment. He wrote Max Headroom and directed Trevor Howard in Sir Henry at Rawlinson End.)
The film was shot in an afternoon for just £3...the cost of the DV tape. Everyone worked for free, we borrowed a jib from a mate, the DP brought his own camera and we edited on his home computer.
