Rated - 4 starsGreat Atmospheric/Gorey Horror

Millsey from Hastings [Highly rated reviewer] , 22/12/2006

Its not often you get a horror thats both full of Atmosphere and Gore, but Stay Alive captures both really well.

As you've probably gathered, its about a computer game that when you die in the game, you die in real life.

The music throughout is brilliant, and it scared the life out of my girlfriend so worth it just for that.

If your a horror fan, but sick to death of the same old same old, then this is the film for you, its clever, gorey and most of all fun.

Enjoy

***COULD BE SPOILER INSIDE***

based on a true story from the 17th century 'Blood Countess' i thought what the hey and sat down to watch not really knowing what it was going to be about - i thought the film as a whole was very well thought out and brilliantly written - the history i think makes any horror story come to life but it was as you might suspect a little farfetched but you soon get over that , it kept me on the edge of my seat & i really look forward to the dvd coming out (theres rumours that a video game is to released but its still in beta testing so watch this space) i am a movie mad fan & would love someone to chat about films as much as i do

Rated - 4 starsPretty Good

Ok, we knew what the film was about, we read it in the reviews....so we knew that people died in real life as the characters in the game did. So, it's a simple idea and we liked it. The acting was very 'American Pie', but we expected that. It didn't make us switch off though.... overall, it was watchable and quite interesting.

Well, there's 80 minutes I'll never get back again! Don't waste your time, it's neither scary, thoughtful or funny! Studios seem to think that if there's a couple of good looking girls in it, then they could sell any old crap! Try to 'Stay Awake' would be a better title! Rubbish!

While the computer game based theme is a novel idea, the special effects are adequate and the acting is what you would expect, there is very little to separate this film from any other teen horror.

Unfortunately the film suffers from the the same cliche as all slasher films. Even after the teenagers find out that someone or something is out to kill them, they still insist on splitting up to look in that crypt or abandoned building. I think they deserve to die for their stupidity.

The single star is because the lead, Jon Foster, is hot.
