This film looks at what the world would be like if there were to be a universal crisis that caused every living person to give up hope on careers, relationships, society and life itself - the world is infertile. And human nature is collapsing. This film captures the hopelessness of the world incredibly well! I felt completely sucked into the film. Also it is only 21 years in the future, so everything is recognisable as its all shot in England, which adds to the emotional connection you get while watching it.It has been directed very well too, there is one battle scene which is entirely shot in one go, it doesn't change camera angles once-amazing!And Clive Owen prooves that he can act, this is easily his best film to date.If you like Minority Report, Terminator, Saving Private Ryan, You'll love this!!

I was hoping for a lot from this film , but it really is awful. The acting is almost universally bad, but Clive Owen must get a special mention for once again proving to have the acting ability and personality of a sideboard. The birth scene in particular had me laughing out loud he was so bad! The actors aren't helped anyway by the awful dialogue, it's so unconvincing and cliched. Also, at various points in the film a character will suddenly just break into a long speech about something we need to know - this is totally unconvincing, people don't do this in the real world!!A mention must also go to the music for bringing the film down further - in keeping with the worn out 60s idealism attempting to be portrayed here, we get various folksy ballads playing away. For example, Michael Caine is hamming it up as a long haired hippy in the woods, and his wife is in some sort of comatose state (we don't even know why!) and they play Ruby Tuesday when we see her. This would have been pretty laughable anyway if it happened just the once and it was the original Marianne Faithful version, but it plays every time we see her and it's an awful cover version - it just makes you cringe! The only break from the hippy stuff is when the film gets to a moment which is supposed to be poignant, and then, so that we know we're supposed to feel moved, we get a sad piece of opera - how original!Really, this film is a half-decent idea let down by poor script, poor acting, and poor execution - i've seen episodes of Doctor Who that are more convincing and moving! It's unbelievable that this tired mess is from the same director who brought us the fresh and original Y Tu Mama Tambien. Don't waste your time with it!

Ive watched quite a few films in my time but none have been as bad as this. I tried my hardest to get into this confusing film right from the beginning. The film is extreamly hard to follow and in some places you cannot follow it it just doesnt make sense. The most civilised bit is the boat right at the end.. and that is where the film ends.. it is terrible!I recommend you watch this film , just so you your self can see have truely arwful it is.

This film is actually quite good. But it follows a similar premise to films such as Legend, 28 days! The world has become a derelict wasteland where people live in relative chaos and hope is hard to come by. I personally feel these films lead nowhere and only retain interest through a few random events where the action gets a little tasty or the special effects distract me from the fact that I'm actually spending about 2 hours waiting for the bloke to have an epiphany at the end! However, lets disect this one for all its worth! Clive Owen is always great at playing the surly loner who is at heart a better man. He goes through the film saving who he can and outwitting the nasty buggers who are out to get him and the others he's associated with.As we all know Michael Cane can do no wrong and is a film icon. He plays his role without the need for too much effort and plays more of a cameo role if you ask me. However, I think Mike's career is winding down somewhat and we can't ask too much of the old fella! As for the rest of the cast... I can't remember them! They pretty much only serve to support Clive Owen and help to create the world in which the film is set. I'm afraid I can't be bothered to write anymore I've lost interest... Enjoy!

The man who could/should have been Bond continues to show how versitile an actor he is,the film is both harsh and touching and some of the scenes are incredibly intense.A well written script and fine acting set in a run down England setting make this a gripping thriller.
