A Great feel good movie, about love, life and race.

A young couple overcome their personal issues in the pursuit of love!

Like watching some sort of training video for race awareness. Stilited, poorly acted, heavy handed and with a central love story with no chemistry.

Rated - 4 starsA good film.

Don't be fooled into thinking this is your usual rom-com. It doesn't strictly fill that genre - which is a good thing. Something New rarely makes you laugh, but it is an interesting perspective on mixed-race relationships and the chemistry between the leads is certainly watchable. I enjoyed this and would watch it again.

At last! A movie that addresses race within relationships in a grown-up no holes barred modern way. Strangley touching, sometimes uncomfortable but always honest.

The reference is American so some comments may not relate entirely to us here in the UK, but human emotions, experiences and feelings are universal so should resonate with all.

Sanaa Lathan is Kenya a single black professional who yeanrs for love but has a 'list' which her prospective suitors must fulfill. She prefers to date black men, its a preference not a prejudice. In steps Simon Baker, Brian, an architect, landscape architect, the very opposite of her IBM (Ideal Black Man). A tentative relationship develops but not before Sanaa's IBM comes along to test her resolve............

Sanaa Hamri as director has provided a fresh outlook on race matters and adds a nice touch with her native Arabic music in some of the scenes

Highly recommended especially for couples in an interracial relationship, its a must see!

Sometimes the movie seems stinted i.e. the scenes seem not have continuity which is unsettling.
