Brief synopsis of Boston Legal - Season 2

BOSTON LEGAL--a wry courtroom television show that walks the line between drama and comedy--is the creation of perennial hit-maker David E. Kelly (ALLY MCBEAL, PICKET FENCES). BOSTON LEGAL revolves around the Boston litigation law firm of Crane, Poole, and Schmidt, in particular two eccentric and flawed attorneys, Alan Shore and Denny Crane. Shore, an unscrupulous and wily ambulance chaser and womaniser (played, with sly charm by James Spader) finds an uneasy alliance with Crane, a bombastic, self-aggrandising, and temperamental elder lawyer (William Shatner in an Emmy-winning performance). Despite their ethical and emotional deficiencies, Shore and Crane usually find themselves fighting on the right side, as they take up cases that no one else is willing to touch. The firm is rounded out by Shirley Schmidt, a lawyer who joined the firm despite having a past with both Crane and Shore, as well as Brad Chase (Mark Valley), Denise Bauer (Julile Bowen), and Jeffrey Coho (Craig Bierko).

Rated - 5 starsBetter Even Than Season One!

Didnt think anything could top season one...but this has done it! For me, this is THEE best tv series to come out of America. It is fast paced, incredibley intelligent, hilarious beyond belief, poignant, surprising, edgey, controversial, sexy...and has the finest acting on the small screen that you are likely to see. Entertained? You will be, just let it seduce you and you will be begging for season three just like me...great stuff!

Rated - 4 starsShatner and Spader are superb

The 2nd series of David E Kellys lawyers 'dramedy' in which William Shatner and James Spader steal the show, this first disc of the 2nd series rejigs the cast removing two of the first seasons regulars and introducing 3 new lawyers. At the core of the show though is the relationship between Denny and Alan with both actors never being better. A great show

From what I have gathered, you either love Boston Legal or hate it; you either 'get it' or you don't. I get it, and I love it: it is some of the sharpest, funniest and at times most poignant screen writing currently being put out there. At once hilarious, charming and intelligent, the show is expertly executed to deliver serious content, but never so self-righteous to preach to you about it, preferring to help us laugh at ourselves and the world we live in. Two words: Denny Crane!

Somewhere it was advertised as a razor sharp black comedy. And for that I give it two stars.

Bleak relentless depiction of 60's advertising 'highflyers' of Madison Avenue. If your into coloured film noir try it.

If your into black comedy try anything else!
