Brief synopsis of See No Evil

Director Gregory Dark's contemporary B-movie gorefest has all the necessary trappings to leave genre fans satisfied, and others slightly nauseous. The scene is set when a group of juvenile delinquents arrive at a roach-infested ruin of a hotel, where they have agreed to work in exchange for lighter sentences. They are led by a cop who lost his hand four years ago in a struggle with a brutal serial killer whom he killed with a bullet to the head--or so he thought. Now, the very same hulking monster, played by WWE wrestler Kane, haunts the halls of the dilapidated hotel, and with no further ado begins picking off the teenagers one by one. He metes out his own brand of justice: having been taught as a child by his punishingly Christian mother that the eyes--the windows to the soul--must be cleaned to please God, he gouges out the eyes of each of his victims. The camera does not shy away from this or any other terifically squirm-inducing action, while the hyperkinetic editing maintains a head-spinning pace. The characters remain one-dimensional and stereotypical, true to teen slasher tradition, but there are enough twists and gleeful scares to make it well worth the while.

Rated - 5 starsLook into their eyes, can't you see the sin?

After Halloween and Friday the 13th, there was nothing... until the SAW trilogy made a lot of money. Hard Horror is hot again, and with the success of the first Hostel came See No Evil in 2006. With great characters, an eerie premises and a truly scary villain, this is one of the better Slasher movies of the last years. Professional wrestler Kane seems to be born for stuff like this. He is extremely scary in every way and the death scenes are very intense. The story somehow follows the slasher flick route, but there are enough 'popcorn' moments to keep you on the edge of your seat. If you want to be scared, this is a great movie. If you are a slasher fan, this one is made especially for you, Do Not Miss It !!

Rated - 3 starsA good pscho-killer-by-numbers movie

faythe23 from Deeside , 20/06/2006

I watched this film with low expectations, but was nicely surprised. Yes, this follows the most traditional plots for a slasher horror film, a huge unstoppable man-monster vs a group of attractive teenagers trapped in a decrepit building for some inplausible reason, but for all it's obvious plot 'twists' this is a solid horror film that delivers some good shocks and greusome moments.

This film does not break any new ground for the horror genre, but fans of Jason Vorhees and similar films will enjoy this.

WWE fans will also enjoy Glen Jacobs' ('Kane') movie debut, essentially building on his raw charcter, but also showing some good acting skills.

I would not be surprised to see him in more horror films in the future.

Oh dear ..........A slasher flick directed by Porno Film maker Gregory Dark and starring Glen Jacobs as Jacob Goodnight/Kane the serial Psychopath ........you couln't make it up..............can it get any worse ?.........You bet your life it can..........A small town policeman Williams (Stephen Vidler) and his partner break into a house and rescue a girl who's been tortured and by a pyschopath, unfortunately Williams partner is killed by the big brute who has a a penchant for eyeballs and although Williams manages to fire a shot off and wound him he barely gets away with his life.........Pause.........

And Several years later fully recovered and on lighter duties............. Williams is in charge of eight youth offenders who form part of a trial scheme to help renovate an old derelict hotel into a homeless hostel......... Enter a cross between Mrs Danvers and Norman Bates' Mother who is over seeing the project, or haunting the building I couldn't quite figure which one ....... but little do they realise that Goodnight (Sweet Prince) is hiding in the building and ready to poke their eyes out quicker than you can say Optrex as he brutally picks them off one by one . Poor Kane (Sugar to his mates) was of course mentally and phyically abused as a boy leaving him with a strange obession for religious tatoos and people's peeper's..........Someone who really should have run away with the circus at a young age but would have ended up doing strange things with a tent peg no doubt......... Grisly and predictable, with acting that makes Keanu Reeves look like Sir Lawrence Olivier it really is for horror fans only...........Well those who have a marginal IQ of about 20 anyway..........

Rated - 5 starsFantastic See No Evil.

Cornetto from Lancaster , 05/04/2007

'See No Evil' sees a bunch of juvenile delinquents sent to a hotel so they can clean up their act. Of course, a monstrous murderer (played by Kane) also happens to be living in this hotel. Kane was good as the killer, and is totally believable as a fearsome killer who removes peoples eyes with his finger nail. Fantastic Horror/Thriller with just enough gore and plenty of scares. I really enjoyed this film.
