Great, a game that actually utilises the controls fully.

Grabbing a bad guy a throwing him around the room by swinging the controls around is lots of fun. Grabbing a baseball bat or shovel and bopping those rival gangs around never gets boring.

Even the gun controls are pretty good for an early release game, target a knee and blast away, watch him drop to his knees and beg for mercy!

The only thing I didn't like about this game was that it was a bit easy, the cops never really present much trouble. They put up road blocks and get shotguns when they're really after you but unlike GTA there's no sniper in a helicopter or special swat team. I realise this is set in an era when they weren't available but you'd expect some equivalent force that when you've committed genocide just blows your silly arse to hell!!

Brilliant game, give it a go.

Very similar to Mafia on the pc but with the added benefit of being based on the first Godfather film, you start the game by making your own character, although this doesn't actually have any effect on the game itself, for example you can't scare off women or intimidate men on the street with your impressive moustache.

The graphics may not impress overall, but the character models are excellent in detail and likeness, this is helped by the great voice acting, an added bonus is that a few of the actors from the the original movie have lent their likeness and voices to the game (James Cann, Robert Duvall). Sadly Al Pacino is not present although Michael Corelone does make an apperance in the game.

The remote and nunchuk help make the Blackhand edition rise above it's other console counterparts by being much more enjoyable and immersive, even to the point where you can perform headbutts by raising both controllers to your head. This, of course, make it's violent content a bad choice for the younger members of the family.

I definitely recommend it if you haven't played this on other consoles and it makes a great substitute for the lack of a Wii version of GTA.

Rated - 5 starsOne of the best games for WII

The Godfafther game is simply incredible. I rented it aprehensively and was throughly impressed. The use of controls is not only inventive but is fun to do and it'll help you change how you play. I found myself wanting to do the assassination missions just to use whatever specific weapon was needed. The story is also great fun to play and is the right balance beetwen fun and challenging. However it's not perfect. The graphics arent that great and it lacks some features which could have made it better (such as your appearence actually altering the game) furthermore the missions can be repetative and the buildings are all similar. However the great controlls and the fact that it's a great game in the first palce more than make up for it.

i'd suggest renting this game as it's clearly not to everyones liking.

Well Worth Buying. This and BULLY are the best games on the WII to date and the only 2 games I would say that merit £35 each. Iv just picked up a mint condition Godfather (BH edition) & a brand new & sealed version of Bully from ebay, both for under £20 each !!!!!

Buy this and Bully and you'll have weeks of fun.....trust me!
