Brief synopsis of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories

Set in 1984, two years prior to the cheese-fest that was GTA Vice City, players take on the role of Victor Vance, elder brother to Vice City's drug-dealing Lance Vance. At this game's point in the series timeline, Victor is a soldier based in Fort Baxter. Looking to earn some cash to help out his brothers, he's offered some chores by his commanding officer, Sargeant Jerry Martinez. Before long, things turn ugly and Victor falls foul of the Military Police.

As is the staple with all GTA titles, turn take a turn towards the seamier side of life, and Victor is reduced to taking on increasingly violent jobs, working his way up the criminal food chain. As you'd expect, the whole of the city isn't available. Unlike its predecessor, this time you start from the Vice City Mainland, with Vice City Beach unreachable due an impending hurricane. However, you can still drive by the millionaires mansions on Starfish Island.

Once again, an excellent roster of voice talent is on hand to deliver the fabulously-crafted dialogue. Voices to the new faces include Auf Wiedersehen Pet's Timothy Spall and Phil Collins as himself. Old hands Danny Trejo, Phillip Michael Thomas, Gary Busey and Luis Guzmán return to reprise their character's roles.

With its host of new missions and multitudinous multiplayer modes, not forgetting the mini-games like Rampage and Off-Race Time Trials that have made the series so un-put-downable, Vice City Stories is a must-have for fans of criminal sandbox adventures.

Rated - 4 starsDamn good for a Direct Port

For a direct port from PSP to PS2 this is a pretty good game. The missions, while somewhat lacking in number compared to other GTA games, are challanging, and when added with the side missions add to a fun game. There are pleanty of weapons to choose and they are eaisily found. The Graphics are somewhat lacking, but are on par if not better than the original GTA vice city. This game is definately reccomended to fans of GTA and Vice Ciy, as the cameos and background stories are not to be missed.

Rated - 3 starsBetter then Liberty City Stories.

In my opinion Liberty City Stories was quite disappointing as the graphics looked bad when shown on TV and played just like Vice City without property, helicopters, ect.

In this game you play Vance who is Lance's brother.

In this game you can swim like in San Andreas but can't dive underwater

a new feature is you can buy back your weapons after being arrested or wasted if you pay enought money.

You can target people when you use your fists so you can sneak up on people and break their necks.

Apart from this there isn't much change from the other GTAs all the other fetures are still there so you will probobly get tired running, fighting, stealing, ect the police are also twice as hard as they were in Vice City so even annoying them is getting boring now.

But it is still an improvement over Liberty City Stories.

If you already have this game on PSP there is no need to buy it on PS2 if you don't you might want to rent it first as it is certainly not the best GTA out there but is at least on the right track.
