Rated - 5 starsa HUGE film, unmissable...!!

PaulaWestwood from Ashton-Under-Lyne [Highly rated reviewer] , 03/03/2007

This is one of those extraordinary true to life films that simply blow you away while you watch it. Surrounding the attempt to integrate various cultures into a school in Long Beach California after the Rodey King riots, this shows the winning of hearts and minds, and the changes that can be made through examples and choices. It is perhaps particularly quite relevant with the current situation of increased gang problems here in the UK.

This is an inspirational, emotional blender of a story, that is unquestionably my film of 2007 so far The positives in this film are immense, miss this at your peril, this is a brilliant piece of real life movie and I couldn't recommend it highly enough. 5 stars plus !

Rated - 5 starsSimply Brilliant and amazingly inspirational!

A customer from North London , 14/03/2007

They really don't make enough great films like this.Swank was brilliantly cast as Erin or 'Ms. G' as she was known by her students. This is a really inspiring film on so many levels. But when the educational system seems to be crumbling because of the apathy of teachers, one woman dares to believe there is a better way. She made the effort to understand the pain of the students and the lives they were leading. She didn't just accept that she was was unable to be a catalyst to change. I cannot for the life of me, understand why sports stars (for example) are heralded are heroes and rolemodels when it is people like Erin that are making the world a better place by daring to believe that we each have the responsibility to live up to our fullest potential!! This film deserves the highest recommendation ever, because it was beautifully acted out and it isn't just a movie or a story: it is the true account of how one person has made a difference to the lives of so many people!! See it, it's really superb viewing, and perhaps one of the most inspirational films ever!!!! I walked out of the cinema wanting to be a better person and thinking if one person has so much power to affect the lives of so many in a positive way, then what could I do to make the world a better place for me and others to live in???

Rated - 5 starsA Great Movie!

Cazuk1976 [Highly rated reviewer] , 10/05/2007

I saw this on preview at the cinema and I was simply blown away but this movie. It runs along a similar line to dangerous minds, so if you liked that film, you will love this. The cast was fantastic, the acting was brilliant and the story out of this world. It does make you realise how lucky you are you dont have to face what they do. Its funny, sad & scary, all the best ingrediants for a fantastic movie. A definite must see movie!

Rated - 3 starsEducational success

This a good and believable story about a teacher who struggles against the odds in an attempt to achieve success in a situation where everyone seems to be militating against her. This is a film that I would recommend as being worth watching.
