Rated - 4 starsSlam-Dunk (sorry, couldn't resist...)

Homecourt is about as far removed from a realistic basketball game as you can get before entering into the realms of stupidity. You can tell almost instantly that this is a game made by EA... The smooth visuals, the official names and an amazingly slick sountrack are all staples of an EA product.

However in the past EA has been criticised for going for style over substance, with their games sadly lacking in any form of decent gameplay. However i'm happy to report that Homecourt doesn't suffer from this, infact it is one of the most enjoyable basketball games I have played since the good old days of NBA Showtime on the Dreamcast.

The only glitch I discovered was that sometimes when the ball goes loose it can be quite difficult to pick up, but that would be nit picking.

I would say that this game is perfect for rental as once you complete it and get the achivements (a feat which took me around the 12hrs mark) there isn't that much else to do... meaning you can just post it back and save yourself £50!

The online community for the game is reasonable. In the evenings you won't have a problem getting a game from a UK source, but at night you will find yourself playing some 'chatty' Americans...

All in all I think that Homecourt is an enjoyable sports game. I wouldn't say you have to be a fan of the NBA to enjoy the game, however I think you still probably need to be a sports fan to get the most out of it. 4 out of 5 for me.

NBA Street Homecourt...

Hmmmmm.. I heard that this game was easy achievements and I was and still am looking to boost my gamerscore..

The person who said that this game was easy achivements was 100% talking truthfully.

All you had to do was play through the game with little skill at all.

All you had to do was play basketball games where you could pretty much punch your opponent in the face (Which you cant do on the game but would be so cool :D) and then just jump off your teammates back to do a flip in mid air and dunk it through the hoop.

Not only was this game easy achievements but the overall gameplay was quite fun doing all the tricks etc. And the actual story mode thingy and some depth by the way it tells you about the basketball player who played there. Congrats EA :D

Rated - 4 starsbest basket ball game i have played

A customer from leicester , 12/09/2007

I had better start by saying i am not a sports fan, so i do not care much for rules that stop play every two seconds. This is much like fifa street only obviously with your hands and thats why i like it. fast pace easy to control and i don't need to read a rule book before i turn it on.

there are a couple of down points online is a no hoper and simple close range shots are almost impossible but who cares when you can jump off your team mates back dunk the ball and catch it again on the way down only to dunk it again.

Rated - 4 starsBrilliant.

The amounts of fun you can have with this game is immense, the laid back near ruleless gameplay is brilliant, with you choosing a character; the large muscular player who basically plays like this is the NFL, the medium build all around guy who is great at shots and dunks and the small built player who can handle the ball well and steal it with even greater ease.

Double dunks are mad fun to execute and watch, with the player doing near impossible feats of agility and strength by dunking the ball and catching it with his legs as it falls through the net, flicking it back into his hands and dunking it with the aid of a double frontflip. If real NBA players could play like this im sure Basketball would be the most popular sport worldwide.
