COD3 - the last game of the WW2 part of the call of duty series. The best ww2 series in my opinion. After completeing both tittles prior to this i was expecting something much better in better graphics on a next gen console..I was wrong. This game was so much better than i could have thought possible that as soon as i completed it - i fired it up for another go!

Best WW2 game ever!

Being the 3rd in the series call of duty 3 brings you again to ww2 where you will fight as american (no suprise there) British/French, canadian and Polish arms.

A good idea right?

Well yes it was and this has no downsides, however the only difference between the versions on PS2 and PS3 was the better graphics. I would have hoped for some extra gameplay to fill the over 20gb that a single layer blueray disk can hold. However this is not he case which could make you feel as if you were cheated if paying the full amount. Also the online multiplayer seems unfinished and connectiveity at times seems non existant.

With this being you may be a bit put of to buy this game but I feel that its a good game never the less and if your a fan of first person shooters and ww2 then give it a rent, you wont be unhappy, just maybe a little disappointed.

The only additions ps3 offers above the ps2 game is shiner, sharper graphics. Still, the next gen starts here.

Single player is pretty poor - the enemy AI often acts stupidly, your team mates keep getting in your way, there's no real difficulty curve to ease you in, the level design is fairly mediocre, and the story and characters are unremarkable. The whole thing just failed to grab our attention.

To make matters worse, every other console first person shooter I've played recently (Halo, Resistance etc) has had a split screen co-operative mode, which is great for playing with the missus. CoD3 doesn't have this.

What it does have is a variety of online multiplayer modes, ranging from basic team deathmatch to capture the flag and checkpoint capture modes. Unfortunately, there's no way to communicate with your team mates, so games tend to range from haphazard to downright chaotic. That is, if you can find a game at all. It took me about ten minutes to find an online match I could connect to. Even games with a five star connection rating usually resulted in a long pause followed by an error message telling me I couldn't connect to all the players.

All in all, pretty underwhelming.
