Not easy to play, but that's a pro for me. The only con is that I played Fall of Man prior to this game so hence only 4 star and not 5.

usual tom clancy game, worth a look if you liked games of this type on ps2 but nothing new. playable but not fantastic, has not used the full potential of the ps3. worth renting (wish i had, instead of buying it!)

Ubisoft Montreal outdone themselves with this classic 1st person shoot em up,this was one of the most intense games ive had the pleasure to play and the most enjoyable in many years,if like the game suggests that there's going to be a follow up to rainbow six vegas then all i can say is bring on the sleepless nights,im quite hard to please in my gaming world but Rainbow Six Vegas was and still is outstanding and every serious gamer should display this proudly in there collection-10/10.

I had high hopes for this game but was not impressed at all, so much so that I sent it back within a matter of days. Maybe it’s my fault for not giving it a chance but the graphics were poor and the playability was not good.

There are much better games out there like Call of Duty 4 if you’re into this style of game.

Rated - 5 starsAwesome Game

So you know, I haven't actually played this at all YET. It is on my waiting list.

The reason for this review is because I don't agree with past reviews. For a start, the game actually looks fantastic, considering its age (one of the first PS3 games). I really don't agree with these people who are only conparing this game to COD4..... the fact that COD4 is the best game that has ever been created is the reason why you can not really compare it. Also, lets not forget that COD4 took years to develope.

I have just bought Fall of Man.... personally, I hate it and would have prefered to save my money. I think it is well over-rated and quite rankly, why would anyone want to believe in stupid alien like creatures.... its just silly!

For these reasons, that is why I'm giving Rainbow Six 5 stars.

I was amazed after installing this game to see the worst set of fuzzy graphics I've ever seen on the PS3. After a sniff around the web it turned out to be a bug within the game which mistakingly tells a 1080p TV that it is a 1080 game when in fact it's 720 - resulting in a horrible blurred mess. The only fix is to manually modify the HDMI settings within the PS3 to downgrade the resolution to 720! Not good from the otherwise excellent Ubisoft stable.

Once done the images were far crisper - but sadly the overall quality of the graphics in this game is sub-standard for the PS3/Next Gen platform and it shows. Enemies are virtually impossible to see at anything beyond a few feet in front of your character (requring max brightness/contrast on the TV, plus frequent uses of the thermo-cam or infra-red cam to see where they are). If you want to progress without losing your hair you're better to switch on the map (R2) and ignore the environment.

Game play is very hard and you will find yourself returning to the last checkpoint dozens of times before completing a set piece. As some of the checkpoints are a distance apart this can be extremely frustrating and seriously reduced the fun for me.

The ability to command other characters was good though - and I found myself sending them in to clear out a room ahead of me - which in the main does enable you to survive a bit longer than otherwise!

In all honesty I gave up on this game after a few frustrating days and sent it back.

If you are looking for a challenging FPS and are not too worried about PS2 standard graphics or a non-engaging story line then rent this title - but personally I've come to expect a great deal more from both the producer and the platform.
