For an action movie to stand the test of time it has to have something watchable in it, and after enjoying 1,2 and 3 in quick sucession before viewing this, we were not dissapointed with the previous encounters, or ineed this one.

Bang up to date, our one man army McClane is in the thick of it once again by being in the wrong (or right) place at the wrong (or right) time.

Its an all action gamble of a movie that takes all the right turns and does everything you would want it to. The whole collection of these are deserved cinema hits, and this is no exception, a must watch for any action fans, in fact any fans of the big screen.

Much the weaker film of the whole series. Some fine stunts can't make up for a very weak plot. Disappointing.

Rated - 5 starsPerhaps the best ever sequel ever.

Len Wiseman has done something amazing and utterly unexpected. He has made a Die Hard which is not only verging on the credible (unitl about two thirds through) but also pretty frightening. By which I mean it's actually quite frightening. Rather than being merely elegantly ruthless, Timothy Olyphant is really scary without once raising his voice. McClane's daughter fails to annoy, McClane's side-kick fails to be deadweight (in fact they're both pretty endearing), and perrennial 'hey it's that guy' guy Cliff Curtis is as solid as ever. The camera work and colour pallette are interesting and very different without being overly showy, and the music never over-powers the plot of the action. It's definitely the best so far this year on the action stakes - although the trailer for Bourne looked better on fight choreograhy.

The varying success of the three previous films in this franchise, was largley based on certain factors. Those factors being -Bruce Willis's

charm as he despatched bad guys with extreme prejudice,a script peppered with the 'F' word and the 'M F' word, the brilliant one liners,

a ludicrous plot, amazing stunts and a sky high bodycount

What the makers of this latest film have done in the name of putting younger(ie more) bums on seats is remove all the above elements that made the Die Hard brand stand out from other generic maverick cop sagas. The very things that made it so successful in the first place. The result is by far the weakest of the four films, the violence has been toned down to such a degree that you might think you're watching the 'A Team' . Villians are blown up,shot, thrown from buildings and helicopters etc, only to be shown seconds later walking away from the wreckage. The only thing that kept me watching was Willis himself which sadly,in the end wasn't enough to get this film more than two stars. So,not the worse action flick of the summer but certainly one that didn't need making.

this made for very uncomfortable viewing. i expected it to be at least on a par with the other die hard films but it wasnt. bruce willis is past it now. this film contains no vests, swearing, acting or believable plotline. not even worth renting if you like the other die hard films.

This series of films has become more and more unbelievable. Its all done very well, highly polished, high octane stuff but ultimately unfulfilling, maybe its me, expecting too much.

Its true also that the baddie just wasn't bad enough, he could've come from High School Musical!

This film reminded me of an Arnie movie, great eye candy but superficial. In the opening scenes McClane suffers what appears to be a life threatening injury, but he soldiers on for the next couple of hours sustaining even more horrendous physical abuse...its just too much.

Although i like Bruce Willis i don't think he's a very good actor , he's possibly reaching a watershed in his career now that he looks his age, making it more difficult for him to take on the action hero role.

Watch it for what it is and you won't be disappointed.
