Brief synopsis of Two Worlds

The story of "Two Worlds" begins in an age torn by war. The Orcs have advanced to the south bank of the river Gon and are threatening the Kingdom of Cathalon. While this is happening, the hero, a wandering bounty hunter, is searching for some clue as to the whereabouts of his sister, whom he hasn't seen since her settlement was attacked three years ago. He unexpectedly receives vital information from a mysterious stranger - and immediately joins a Dark Brotherhood (or so it seems). Now the time has come for him to try understanding the game's powerful forces - and to learn how to use them! This is the only way the hero can survive - and get the answers to the questions that are burning in his soul - Who is behind this secretive kidnapping? Will he ever see his sister again? Where is the Tomb of Aziraal - and what role does the mysterious, yet helpful stranger have to play?

Played this for about week now on PC (v1.4) and I have to say it's far the best RPG you can buy. It's hard to find any weak points really, story, quests are interesting, visuals breathtaking (get gf8800 or 7800 for this one on PC really), sounds and music too. I liked character creation and possibility to change your skillpoints allocation during gameplay if you get it wrong. Items stacking, spell stacking too for higher damage, defense, huge variety of alchemy and possibilities. Armors are the most beautiful aspect of game, so precisely done. Play as warrior, archer, battlemage or mix it up together in any way you like. Ride horses, lizards, sneak, steal, lockpick. Huge variety, enough for me. Over 300 side quests. And much more. Forget Oblivion or Gothic 3 and go get this one. I hope the Xbox version will be same quality. 5 star buy

I've had my XBox360 since launch, and this gets my vote as the worst game on the console so far!

The graphics are terrible, even in HD, and wouldn't look out of place on the Playstation 2 or original XBox. The sound effects are mediocre, but the voice acting is awful. In a time when many developers recruit Hollywood actors to do character voices in their games the whole of Two Worlds sounds like it is voiced by just one man reading from an autocue.

A big part of RPG games is creating your own character to play with. Two Worlds options are limited to a white human male and 4 very similar hairstyles, and no matter how much tweak the 'features' options he comes out basically looking the same!

The actual gameplay is standard RPG fare that has all been done before. In the short time that I could stand to play the game, nothing stood out as different or surprised me at all. The combat is particularly frustrating and just involves bashing the right trigger to strike your opponent hopefully more often than they strike you. You can't even 'block' incoming blows at the start of the game, and have to find a 'trainer' to teach you how!!!

The bow and arrow, and spell systems are equally flawed. The bow requires no aiming and just 'locks on' to the nearest target, but you can't move while you use it, and so are rooted to the spot while your enemy charge at you and you maybe get a shot off.

Most of the spells appear useless. Without a crosshair ranged spells are impossible and fireballs fly off in random directions.

There are numerous reviews in game mags and on-line comparing this to Oblivion, but there really is no comparison. Oblivion is a truly immersive RPG set in a huge game world. Two Worlds is very dated and I was expecting far better, given the number of times that the release date was pushed back.

Two Worlds is unforgivable in the next gen gaming era. The developers should seriously consider a career change!!!

First rpg ive played hated it at first didnt see the attraction, but i decided to give it a hour of my time and soon i was hooked, amazed by the whole computer world i was in. I was buying and trading itching to gain better armour, wepons and powers and griped by the story of the character, through the game you just keep discovering new creatures, new powers, new lands. The freedom of the game is amazing you really can just do as wish, but mabey face the consequences !!!! love it, and now love rpg's!!!!!!!!!!!

I had heard that this game was less than fantastic from various sources, and, since people can be wrong, i thought I'd give it a go for myself. Big mistake. Lets start from the beginning, first off the graphics are terrible, and look more like original XBOX graphics as opposed to 360 style graphics. The 'character creation' if it can even be called that, gives you an option of one man with about 4 'different' hair styles which all seem to look the same, and you can change his eye colour. Thats about all you can do other than make him taller/shorter/fatter (although strangely he still looks pretty much the same whatever you do!). Then onto the gameplay. Truly awful. The controls are cumbersome and the character sheet unnecessarily complicated, so much so it is difficult to be able to distinguish what the icons are. The combat system is terrible with you mashing the attack button and hoping for the best, the story is very very slow and tedious. The voice acting sounds like they have recruited random people off of the street rather than professional voice actors, and the actual characters in the game all seem to look the same and say the same things. All in all, a complete waste of time and money. It seems the developers have tried to make another Oblivion, but failed dismally. By all means rent it if you want to see for yourself, but i would say don't waste your time.
