Rated - 3 starscool game in disguise...almost

Possible spoiler........

If you are a 30 ish male, it's likely that what ever bad review this game, or indeed the movie, gets is not going to make the blindest bit of difference to you. I played and completed this game within 4 hours. It does get completely frustrating at times (to the point of nearly costing me a control pad in a wall related incident) the control system is beyond ideal and can feel really clunky and unresponsive. Like I have pointed out, it is a very short game. The Autobot story being the longest of the two on offer. It sounds awful doesn't it?....but......its Transformers.....I get to be Optimus Prime.....and Starscream.....and Megatron...and....well.....you get the point. There is a cheat already avialible online that enables you to play as the original G1 Optimus....this game is worth it for that alone. Ok, if you don't like Transformers don't bother. If you plan to make a giggiling fool of your self at your local cinema this summer, then it'll be one of the most enjoyable 8 hours you'll when you get back from the movie.

Rated - 2 starsIS IT JUST ME?

c4effect from England [Highly rated reviewer] , 29/08/2007

When i had seen gamestation doing the special edition or whatever they are calling it for this game for £55.And seeing it was number 1 in most game stores and supermarkets , i thought maybe they finally made a good film to game conversion and considering that what i saw the little kids in GAME playing.I thought it looked ok..Omd, how i was wrong. After getting past the first few lvls and the novelty of transforming,I got bored and rellised how much time they had actually spent on this game....Capitalising on the film yet again, this game is making loads of money it shouldent be....RENT Only if u have rented everything els and there is absoloutely nothing els left..................Seriously

The game is ok but lacks loglivety i finished both storys in 2 days and the tedius style of the missions cancels out a replay of the game and the boss battles between optimus prime and megatron are anything but epic like the film. pesonally i am sick of missions which involve destroying a certain amount in a set time. This for the casual gamer or younger players if your looking for somthing that is a little more challenging steer clear of this one

Rated - 2 starsCould have been better...

Dicko18 , 16/09/2007

I was a huge Transformers fan as a kid and still hold the animated film very close to my heart.

I bought this hoping to rekindle some of that love for the old series but there is none of that here. The game has obviously been made very quickly in order to meet deadlines and to make as much money as possible.

Playing through one of the campaigns is kind of enjoyable, being able to destroy the scenery and whatnot but after that wears off and you realise you have to play through another campaign with exactly the same levels the game does get very old.

The best thing about this game is that it is possible to unlock the old style characters and play as them. The characters look brilliant, even better than I remember them...but it's just not enough.

If you're after a very quick game to finish and not a lot else then this is worth a rent, and the graphics aren't half bad.

Just don't buy it

Rated - 1 starIf only this game could transform and roll out!

ThunderEck from Stirling , 18/04/2008

OK.....transformers the game, what a farce, playing this game could easily be compared to receiving a severe kick to the crotch, but worse.

i think i managed to play about 6 tedious missions before i felt my sanity slipping into some sort of evil void. the most enjoyable thing about this game seems to ramming cars off the road, or throwing police cars at other people. I would recommend playing this game only if you have the mental capacity of a puppy with downsyndrome.
