Brief synopsis of Tell No One

Pediatric Alex Beck (Francois Cluzet), still devastated by the savage murder of his wife Margot (Marie-Josee Croze) in the early days of their marriage eight years ago, receives an anonymous email. When he clicks on the link he sees a woman's face standing in a crowd and being filmed in real time - Margot's face. Is she still alive? And why does she instruct him to "tell no one"?

Rated - 5 starsBONKERS!!

I went to the cinema to see this movie and would thoroughly rec. it to anyone who has half a brain cell. Now don't get me wrong, I am no intellectual, pretentious snob - intellectual, moi? - but some of these reviews are hysterical. For example, 'I was bored with this film It was french', 'SUBTITLES FOR OVER 2 HOURS' and the best one of all - 'Really diasappointed that i wasted my time....didn't even bother to watch it'. Do you get my drift? Seems to me that some peeps should stick to Rosie and Jim or maybe The Flumps. Cor blimey - it was a French film! Unless your French is fluent and not on the same level as Del boy, of course it will be bloomin' subtitled! Read what it says on the tin first! Mange tout, mange tout.......

Rated - 5 starsHonestly amazing

This has got to be one of my favourite films of all time.

It's complex, clever, cool and shot crisply. The plot is incredible (in a good way), but the acting, direction and setting come together to create a thrilling story. It has suspense, twists, action (but not the over the top Hollywood style mentioned).

I'm struggling to do it justice here, but I can only thoroughly recommend that you rent this DVD and I am confident that you will never regret your choice.

It's one of those films where half way through, you realise that you are watching something truly special and you just savour the moment from then on. Incredible.

yet another english named film in a non english language.dont get me wrong there is nothing wrong with subtitles but it is so easy to put this in your rental list without realising which is annoying when you recieve a film sit down to watch it to realise its subtitled.

great if you dont mind subtitles and there are some great subtitled films out there but sometimes you dont want to have to think too much when watching a film.

Rated - 3 starsAny critics got a Cesar?

A film that resonates like a vertiginous detective novel, which of course it was - but so were Maltese Falcon, LA Confidential et al. Whichever critic said this film has no emotional centre can't have been watching Francois Cluzet AT ALL. He palpitates and wells up at every unexpected revelation. The pain of the man is clear to see.

OK some of the montage is ham-fisted and superfluous but that gives you time to scratch your head and quickly revise some facts. My advice would be watch out for the key - what the hell was it doing in Margot's purse anyway? - enjoy the rhododendrons, and the denouement is a lot more original than anything Agatha Christie would cook up. The final scene I found genuinely cathartic and so did Cluzet by the look of him. I only wish Guillaume Canet , the young director, had told him not to preempt what was about to happen. Thought provoking and intriguing.
