What a great game with plenty of smashing and bashing. I nice break from your standard car racing games and far less linear than Burnout. A must have in your game collection!

Played this games demo months back in currys and thought my word, isn't this game fun! When i can to actually renting it though, ooh it's a different story. The gameplay is slow, bashing into things slows you down, (need to do this to get nos) really difficult computer a.i aswell... the other gametypes are ok, but nothing special - invest in need for speed or something...

Graphics are pretty secksy though, however game makers should stop traking to make games based on graphics.. GAMEPLAY COMES FIRST ;)

this is actually really awful - sorry :(

After a few days with this game I felt I'd done all I could stand. The races are slow and bouncy and very often infuriating, the scenery you're supposed to destroy to get points and nitro slows you down more than the nitro is worth and the constant necessary car resetting allows even the slowest AI cars to pass you.

The only good points about the game are the carnage party games, and not all of these are fun. The stunts are hilarious and the Derby Deathmatches are very fun but not all that unique. Mostly this game is let down by the imbalanced AI, the drivers are supposed to be relatively equal in general across all race modes yet one driver was nine times out of ten leading the pack, effectively preventing a gold award for all but the most experienced Flatout drivers.

In general this game has some unique ragdoll party fun but for races there are far better games available on the market.

A pretty good game, nice AI as they are consistently aggressive, the game has a pick up and play feel as the controls are very intuitive from the start. There are 2 main types of game mode and they are Flatout and Carnage mode, Flatout starts you out in the derby class, where you build your car (unfortunately no body mods) from the inside and work your way through the classes (Derby,Race and Street). Carnage is more fun with you having pre customised cars to work with doing stunts and destruction derby's. There is massive multiplayer fun to be had with this too in party mode, where you can have up to 4 players in a race or derby. You can also perfect stunts for when you do them in carnage mode. Well worth 30 quid or at least a rental.
