Brief synopsis of G1 Jockey

G1 Jockey for Nintendo Wii is a revolutionary horse racing experience that brings you closer to the real thing than ever before. You'll work your way up from novice status to become a renowned horse racing legend throughout a full and in depth career. The Wii Remote is your whip and the Nunchuk is you reins, giving you the experience of real jockey actions and movements with a variet of realistic controls, including whipping your horse with one hand while you drive it on with the other.

G1 Jockey puts players in the role of a rookie jockey in the world of horseracing, competing against rival jockeys and racing for their very own trainers. In the story mode, players can compete over the course of a full year and attempt to become a top jockey, while battling off fierce competition from their rivals. From negotiating with trainers to year-end awards ceremonies, G1 Jockey faithfully recreates not only the racing, but behind the scenes of the sport as well.

Poor controls and too complex menus waste this game. Even the arcade action becomes boring after a couple for furlongs. Does nothing to capitilise on the wiis control system. Looks like a ported budget PC title. Aviod like the plague unless your a horse racing/betting fanatic.

Old menu's and cheesy music give way to excellent racing addiction. Use surround sound and you are there in the race, jumping fences and flying past to the finish line.

Essentially a RPG which is relatively complex to learn. However, persevere and you are rewarded with a good progressive development rearing your own horses and going on to win G1 races. Shame two player mode doesn't include career mode for both.

IF you want to play this then you'll need time (a lot)to learn all the moves and how to do them. i haven't got the patience for it, i did try but couldn't get the hang of it. but if its your thing then you'll have a blast.

Good game if youve got the time to learn.

The tutorial takes two hours but is well worth it as you understand the controls/fuctions then. I think its one of WII's best games and has improved on the PS2's version (unlike Mario Kart witch is the same as on the SNES).

Well worth a rent, especially if you are into horse racing!
