Brief synopsis of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

The Order of the Phoenix is billed as Potter's most dangerous year in school yet. From the Dementor attack in Little Whinging to the epic battles at the Ministry of Magic, this game lets you experience all of the harrowing action of Harry's fifth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

With the wizarding world in denial about Voldemort's return, Harry recruits a small group of his fellow students and secretly trains them in practical defensive magic. The group christen themselves Dumbledore's Army.

Order of the Phoenix charges you with taking up Harry's wand to explore the dark corridors, secret rooms and extensive grounds of Hogwarts. You can compete in minigames, talk to enchanted portraits and perfect your spell-casting. So, sharpen your wizarding skills, boost your courage, and prepare to battle Lord Voldemort and his fearsome Death Eaters in Harry's most demanding and dangerous year yet.

This game is great, The gameplay, the graphics, the sounds, even the characters look like themselves and not a waxwork like in the previous potter games. After you play the story you can still go around hogwarts and find 'discovery points' which make your spells more powerful, or you could play some minigames such as 'Wizard chess', 'Gobstones' and 'Exploding snap or pairs'. Potter fans will love it as hogwarts is far bigger than the previous games and looks 100 times better.

I received this as a gift as I am a big Harry Potter. I was quite skeptical as I have never played the previous Potter games and had heard bad things.

However this took me very much by surprise, the gameplay is very solid, varied and keeps you coming back for more, even if it is only to find the last magic points.

The graphics are very realistic although I must say that in some cut scenes it look like the characters are zombies and are staring off into the distance.

It is a very easy to game to get 1000 points on, I managed it in about a week or so. If you are renting it purely for points I would recommend a magic points guide and playing it through on Hard as this means you can get all the achievements in one go! and it's not really that hard anyway.

Very good for Potter fans, even if you're not a fan it is a very enjoyable game.

Rated - 3 starsA Good All-Rounder

This is a game that can be enjoyed by all the family. There is plenty to do and the spirit of the film and the characters has been kept. As licenses go the Harry Potter ones have been pretty good. As an adult I did not find this a particularly challenging game (hence only 3 stars), but the child in me enjoyed going around and finding all the collectible items. Children will find it slightly harder but enjoyable nonetheless. In addition, with the Xbox 360 version, this game is an easy way of racking up at least 600 achievement points in a day or two.

Summary: Get this if you are a Harry Potter fan, want Xbox 360 achievement points, have children, or enjoy games where you collect items to unlock rewards.

If your a BIG harry Potter fan then I am sure you will like this.

If you like games that involves lots of exploring then you will LOVE this

I would not buy this game as it appears to be short, I have played it for around 2 hours and am at 36%, so I would reccomend renting it.

If exploration is your thing then rent, if not avoid as you will find this boring.

Played one of the previous games on the PC and compared to that game this one is way better, still has room for improvement though. The game itself was decent but the actual play was poor; the angle of the camera can make it hard to see or do a task, the highlighting system for selecting objects was hard to see at times. When you’re are playing one of the games or practicing for your O.W.L’s it is tediously long in loading them and in-between players on the games. The game’s map is of medium size but takes a while to get from one end to another even using the portraits’ short cuts, but what was really annoying was the guiding system that you can select from the map; if you’re not able to go a certain way it does not recognise that and will keep on telling you to go back the way it wants you to go (yes it is the fastest root though). If you’re a HARRY POTTER fan then this is a good game has all the key places to visit with exceptionally good graphics and along the way you can use spells to discover little hidden things. Talk with the other students as well, if you manage to speak to all 56 it’s an achievement. The game does keep close to the story of the movie and includes animated cut scenes from the movie. All in all the game is decent but nothing to cheer about, can get boring after a while though so while playing this game tune your brain off.
