Rated - 0 starsgood idea, awful game

Now the idea of controlling huge weapon packed flying robots in a near future world blasting other robots to bits to earn cash and custom upgrade your robot sounds brilliant doesn't it?

But it's not!

The controls are dreadful (regardless how much move the stick your robot has 1 speed) the graphics are not next gen by a long way. It's bad graphics for a PS2. Bad story, sounds, etc etc. No redeeming features at all. Took it back to the shop after an hour!

AVOID!

Rated - 2 starsArmoured Core 4 - Perfect Rental

A customer from England , 25/09/2007

This game in the long-running series is actually a perfect rental title. Primarily because it means that you don't have to buy it, unless you find that it really suits you.

The mech garage option is comprehensive and enjoyable apart from the fact that you don't find out how much things cost until you have added all the parts and are ready to assemble. Then if the system tells you that you overspent, you have to go back and (blindly) remove parts hoping that they were responsible for the overspend!

The graphics have nice touches, but ultimately the majority of areas are small and quite restricted.

The new manoeuvrability thanks to spectucular boosting adds a much needed increase in pace for the series, which has been plodding around for many years now behind some faster moving, but equally comprehensive mech-sims.

Try before you buy has never been more useful with this title...

Rated - 4 starsBig Robots, need i say more?

A customer from London , 11/03/2008

Well we all know armored cores missions have always been a bit rubbish, lets face it anyone who rents/buys this game just wants to build big robots and play them online or on the battle mode.

the best advice is, beat the game with the best rating you can, get the cash then start having fun. the mech building is awesome as is fine tuning your personal AC including the paint job, my girlfriend can't understand why I have a giant pink gun, I try to explain being shot with a pink gun hurts pride as well as mechs but she doesn't understand.. anyways back to the review, If you love mechs and want to tune and tweak them until you have the ultimate Armored Core this game is for you, especially since the controls have gone a little more like zone of the enders since AC2
