Spare yourself the pain, do not watch this film. I feel so sorry for Robert Carlyle for getting caught up in this mess. Almost all the acting is unbearable, which fits perfectly with the background music and storyline. Before I rented it, I was curious as to why this film was so unheard of (as it is so recent). Now I understand why nobody has heard of it. My sympathies go out to all those who invested in this film, and I really hope this was the directors first movie. Leave it to the Americans, they seem to know how to make proper films these days. Stick with 'The Day After Tomorrow'!

I thiught this was a real 5 star movie. Far better than the Day arfter tomorow which was a big let down. The only slight down side is it is a bit long however you get so into it you don't think of the time.

After all the hype and excitement surrounding this movie, and all the pure disbelief as to why only one cinema in London was playing, I finally went out to Hmv and bought my copy of the Flood.

With a promising start the movie soon starts to spirral down into nothing more than a cheap television movie, probably like something you'd catch late at night on Channel 5. The acting is very poor, the story line soon becomes unbelievable especially in terms of the rectifying solutions to the movie. All the actors/characters try to stand strong with thier non-interesting and non relevant back stories and to be honest thier efforts do not impress me that much.

The Flood has some wonderful special effects, London looks great on screen, but the film spends far too much time building on characters who are poorly portrayed by a group of actors, even Robert Carlisle's efforts are undeniabley weak especially when considering his successful and more memorable roles in other movies like Trainspotting and 28 Weeks Later to name just a couple.

If you want to get a buzz watching the special effects of the very possible break through of the Thames barrier and London being flooded watch this movie but don't expect much from the actors.

The Flood was a very very wet effort.

Yikes, very brave for such distinguished actors to allow this to be released...... must have had no choice.

Robert Carlyle & Tom Courtenay seem to be talking through gritted teeth about their role in the movie in the 'extras' on the DVD.

Very good special effects but the script, storyline and direction have produced wooden acting even from the most talented of thespians.

I kept watching for the giggle.

A very watchable and thoroughly good disaster type film. The cg effects were fairly good and almost plausible. We were expecting a pretty average film with this one, but it's really much better, hence the five stars.
