Brief synopsis of Transformers - The Movie - BLU-RAY Version

In the year 2005, the Autobots and the Decepticons are still locked in battle, but a deadly new force enters the fray--a giant killer planet known as Unicron (voiced by film legend Orson Welles). The heroic Autobots must fight for their own survival and to save their home planet from destruction. A classic of 1980s animation, based on the popular TV series, TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE features a star-studded array of vocal talent, including Welles, Leonard Nimoy, Judd Nelson, Eric Idle, and Casey Kasem.

Caution this is NOT the 2007 Movie!!!!!

Who knows why such a poor quality, badly animated 'movie' was put on Blu-Ray. I can only think this was to dupe the buyer into thinking it was the 2007 cinema version. VHS tape would have been adequate!

This is the animated release from 1986, not the recent version owned by Paramount. This is being released by Metrodome in the UK and will be released on Blu-ray.

i thought this was the newer movie released in the last year or so but this is unfortunately the old cartoony version released many many years ago. at least the title now shows 1986 in brackets (not sure it did before but could be my mistake) but the fact that the release date is 2007, combined with it being released on blu ray could be misleading to some (like me). although it is indeed blu ray, i don't see the point as the animation is very old and dated and is not noticeably improved on blu ray. pointless and misleading so 1 star...

Blu Ray DVD of Transformers, release date of 2007. You would imgine that it is the recent Transformers Movie, especially since it has a very similar cover. It is not that blockbuster movie. It is an ancient cartoon version that has been released at the same time as the movie.

Dissapointed, I was looking forward to watching the new film with its out-of-this-world special effects. Imagine my dissapointment when I saw it was the 80s cartoon. Why oh why would you bother to bring this grainy old cartoon out on blu-ray? It looked awfull.
