Rated - 4 starsInteresting story & good acting

Udo Becker from Milton Keynes , 07/12/2007

A good film telling the story of the CIA taken from a couple of different angles. The first being Chris O'Donnell and his friend being recruited out of College to join the CIA in the late 40's/early 50's. We follow him through his career and the vaious theatres of operations he works in and how it affects his life and loves.

The second angle is the chasing of SASHA the Russian mole in the CIA. He is pursued by Keaton and you get the distinct impression through the film that Keaton himself may well be SASHA.

All in all a well made, well acted and well filmed show. Highly recommended if spy dramas are your thing.

Rated - 5 starsA MASTERPIECE !!!!!!

COLIN REES from Barry, Vale Of Glamorgan. , 10/01/2008

One of the most intelligent and well acted spy dramas ever written. If you liked 'Tinker,Tailor Soldier Spy' from a quarter of a century ago you'll love this!.'The Company' starts with the formation of the CIA and follows the progress of Jack McCauliffe through the Cold War years up to the fall of the Berlin Wall. The acting is superb; in particular watch Michael Keaton as James Jesus Angleton, the father of American Counter-Espionage. If he does'nt win a shed-full of gongs for what has to be the performance of the decade then there is no justice!!!.all in all quite suberb a 'Must Rent'

Rated - 2 starsNot impressed

Mickey Mouse from Dorset, England [Highly rated reviewer] , 10/02/2008

Originally I was quite looking forward to this. The cast was exciting, and the premise was potentially quite thrilling - agents, double-agents, betrayals and tracking down the elusive mole. In theory, it was excellent. Unfortunately in practice, it was far from it. Very very dull indeed. Just in the first few minutes a part of me was already changing the channel. However, I always like to give things a fair chance, so I waited for it to improve. It didn't. The acting was excellent, but incredibly boring. Even the occasional moment of action was sleep-inducing. And although admittedly, I only watched the first episode, it was more than enough for me to make my mind up about it.

Other people it seems, enjoyed it alot - I guess it's an aquired taste. For me at least, it didn't offer anything postive at all.

Rated - 3 starsok but let down by poor casting

drmonkey from Guernsey , 10/03/2008

pretty good mini-series that is only let down by casting of chris o'donnell is the lead role. whilst the other actors age well over the course of the story, which spans 50 odd years, all they seem to of done to o'donnell is grey his hair
