i'd like to start this review with an admission, i bought this game a few weeks ago...hated it. You do have to be a hockey fan to play this it's not like previous versions where you could just slam the big hit into every living thing, this time round you need to defend like a real hockey team would, im talking poke checks, pass interceptions the works and frankly i didnt get the hang of it so in my frustration i traded the thing in for somthing else. So anyway i decided to try my hand at NHL 2K7 (two reviews for the price of one mode activated) from this here's onine rental site and frankly even though it resembled the ea nhl games of old it made me realise how boring they were as i said earlier (just big hitting and one timers). So basically if you rent NHL 08 you definately have the best hockey game on the market all you have to do now is put some real time and effort and most importantly patience into it and i am sure we won't be dissapointed as i've have just rented it from here. good luck (to both of us)

With out a doubt the best Ice Hockey game also the best us sports game on the ps3 Forget NHL2k7 thats crap this is awesome.

ACE GAME AS ALLWAYS. ONE OF THE BEST SPORT SIMS ON THE PS3. YOU DON'T NEED TO BE A HOCKEY FAN TO PLAY.

Good graphics and very smooth gameplay. Can create your own players and add them to your team. Usual EA Sports setup. Overall a very good game.

The first Hockey game i have played since 03 which i loved! This is probably the best hockey game in terms of proper simulation but i prefer the arcade feel of the older games and never really got into this

But if you have time and patience im sure this is one hell of a game
