Brief synopsis of FIFA 08

If you've been paying attention for the last 12 months or so, you'll doubtless recognise the two faces that adorn the cover of FIFA 08: they're the same ones - Rooney and Ronaldinho - that featured on the cover of FIFA 07, of course. This doesn't mean, however, that Electronic Arts has been laying around getting fat and lazy during pre-season training. Well, maybe the art department...

Seriously though, EA has upped the ante once again with FIFA 08. The game challenges players to master the skills required to play like a pro football player. Gamers can now experience the very same highs and lows of real-world players and handle the challenges they face on a daily basis. For the first time ever, fans playing FIFA 08 will face the pressure to improve their game that real-world players go through every day. In the PC, PS2, PS3, and 360 versions, a new play mode called Be A Pro puts you in the role of a solitary player and challenges you to master the same disciplines as the real football player, from positioning and tackling to reading the play and passing.

The popular Interactive Leagues feature, first introduced in FIFA 07, makes its debut on 360 and PS3, enabling you to represent your team online against your rivals in the FA Premier League, Bundesliga, French League or Mexican 1st Division.

All in all, for serious soccer types, FIFA 08 is certainly worth a look. With 30 leagues, 23 real stadia, and ooh, oodles of players featured, there's surely something/somewhere/someone for everyone.

i realy love this game, probably because i am about 2,000th in the world on xbox live, but also because there is so much to do. Like 'be a pro' which is where you get to play a match as 1 player; which i like.

And the gameplay and graphics is much better on and offline than pro evo 2008.

The manager mode this season is good, it gives you lots of things to do.

Challenge mode was a bit dissapointing the year though.

I would suggest this game to people aged 11 and over. People younger should get pro evo.

The best Fifa title to date that incredibly beats pro evolution 2008 as the football game of the year.Graphically superb this game includes various modes such as Manager Mode where you play an entire league season and upgrade your team's abilities, ground, staff and scouting network whilst doing so.You can also add more realism to your players with the tricks system, which is done with a combination of button and analogue stick movements.Want your star player to flick the ball over his head ,and passed the onrushing defender? You can here. There are also new game modes including Be A Pro which challenges you to play the role of a single player through a whole season or career. On top of this there are revamped online leagues to play a virtual season in the Premier League, Bundesliga, French League or Mexican 1st Division against real opponents.Online is where this game shines most with be a pro now including the ability to have a team which consists of 5 real players on any given team,so if you and your friends are lucky enough to have xbox live, you will enjoy the finest online football encounters you could wish for.Must Have( If you have xbox live),Still a good game if you dont.

The best new feature to this game is the authenticness, dripping with sky sports realness, with the crowd chants, top commentry from Gray and most of the way the games moves. My dad thought i was watching a real game when first whacked this on in the living room 48' incher. As for other features its pritty poor, one season in manger mode has bored me already, just the same as 2007 nothing new really in that department. One new feature is 'be a pro' where you take on the role of 'a player in a team', yes one! I think tho its complicated, not fun and pointless. Online leagues are pritty cool, infact playing this game on live is more exciting, seems to work better. All in all its acceptable effort from EA. Dont think it will satisfy till next year. ROLL ON PES!

absolutely brilliant, cant stop playing it a must own for football fans, only dissapointed that some of the acheivement points are a tad hard to get for those not dedicating their life to the game, keep making them, and try getting the pro football so you can play 20 players online, other than that perfect
