Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation on Xbox 360 (2007)

I expected some top gun/g-lock type action but better. I am afraid not. The story is like something from a cheap terrorist movie and the game play is not much better. Found the targetting had a mind of its own, there were ememies everywhere which made it hard to identify your primary targets. Looks great just doesn't play that well.

I was introduced into this flight simulator game on the old ps2 playing Ace Combat 5: Squadron leader, i thought it was amazing, good replay ability and no major glitches, problem was that it was getting to be doing the same thing over and over each level however there were some good 'boss' planes/aircraft. When i played this game, the detail of the planes you flew and the land below you was so realistic and the gameplay was truely amazing, also the new move put it when you boost and then brake to turn really fast up, left or right and of course slows you right down because of the gravity. There was a good storyline, even though it had nothing to do with yourself in game it showed a womans life while this war was going on. Overall this game is a brilliant flight sim, great dogfights and some good boss levels (giant aircraft fortresses and elite squadrons) also the high number of aircraft available to buy and weapon customisation.

The only bad point is that even thought this is a good realistic flight sim, it isnt entirely the same as you'd expect, like in real life and some other games you see the planes quickly dodge and spin left or right, barrel roll or somersault with high speed, but tin this its been slowed down the gameplay is still good but it doesnt fell like your going that fast when flying

never rented this game i allways just by them im a big fan of the searise this 1 is the best so far only folt is there never long inuf lucky if it takes longer than 3 hours on expert to compleat they need to be made longer

I have only one slight critique...the story a little cheesy, having put that aside though...absolutely great game to play..graphics, aircraft and weopons all of a very high standard...some great touches of finesse

This is a game I wanted to rent because it's something I always wanted to play but couldn't justify spending the money on buying it. Turns out I was right to do so.

It's a fun game that makes a good change from the first person norm these days, but it's not a keeper. Really enjoyed the campaign mode ... but wont play it again.

If you always liked flight combat games in their heyday but haven't found an excuse to buy one then rent this and indulge yourself for a few days, by all means.
