Brief synopsis of Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games

Mario and Sonic set aside their lifelong rivalry and appear together in the same game for the first time ever! In Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, players will compete in events that take place in environments based on the official venues of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Using a supporting cast of characters from the amazing worlds of both Mario and Sonic, gamers will be able to compete as or against a range of lovable personalities including Mario, Sonic, Luigi, Knuckles, Yoshi, Tails and more.

Innovative usage of the Wii and DS control systems to maneuver a favourite character will allow players to race the likes of Mario and Sonic down the 100m track, engage in exhilarating rallies in table tennis and churn water in a swimming heat, all while competing for the much sought after gold medal.

Probably one of the best games to have come out on the Wii yet. It's nice to have something more challenging than Wii Sports. The controls aren't as user friendly as Wii Sports but are very easy to pick up and are very well implemented. A definite must buy!

Rated - 3 starsPotential but controls too tricky

Paula from Wales , 05/12/2007

Some of the events in this package are great and easy to control (like the 100m and the long jump) but sadly we found some of the others were rather unresponsive to the control movements or just too difficult to be a good pick and play 4 player game. The importing of your Mii's to the game was a nice touch and there is probably an enjoyable game here for anyone with more patience than I had for the control system.

I was disappointed with this game i found the controls difficult and bored after playing just one round of the individual games, not a patch on wii sports..

This is what the Wii is all about, inclusive active gaming for all. Yes some events are trickier than others but if my 6 year old niece can play a good number of events as can her 60 year old grandmother then overall what more can you ask for.

This is simply great fun with there really only being one disappointment which is the lack of online play. Overall a great addition to anyones collection.
