Horror ! Thriller ! errm I think not ...... I never make reviews but this time I really felt the need to speak out, so PLEASE do not waste your time with this complete and utter dribble, the trailer makes the film out to be ' edge on your seat horror' but it completely misses the mark, I mean it was nearer the cornerflag than the goal!

I enjoyed Saw fot the ingenious contraptions and gore, I also liked the my little eye/fear.com for the tension and twists , but this film simply has nothing to offer, oh no wait................nope can't think of anything please once again don't waste your time.

Rated - 3 starsGood thriller with some great twists!

A customer from SW London , 04/03/2008

Despite having read some bad reviews about the movie I decided to go and see it anyway and decide for myself. I wasn't disappointed. For once the movie was as good as the trailer (which is not always the case). Unlike one of the previous reviewers who claimed the improbability of a young wunderkind manipulating the world wide internet and pc systems at his whims, I actually don't think there was anything improbable about the story.( Just recently Jon Lech Johansen, reverse-engineered Fairplay, which has upset Apple's little applecart, or should I say, Ipod cart!! There have been several other kids too, before him who have gone well beyond their years and capabilities). Lane as usual is brilliant. The movie is fast paced and keeps the viewer at the edge of their seats! I thought it was clever to cast someone like Cross who has baby boy (almost angelic) looks yet is the one masterminding such uncontrollable terror! I enjoyed the film, it provided the entertainment factor I was aiming for. How probable or improbable it would be? Who cares!!! If I just wanted to see the probable I would never go to the movies, I would just sit around watching real life around me. Watch this movie, it's got a good cast, brilliant acting, and I was not disappointed with the ending, because it clearly indicates that as a society, our blood lust and morbid curiosity is growing by the day, some might say, that is not a good sign!

Rated - 4 starsWorth tracking down...

A very relevant and interestingly up to date thriller. The whole concept of this is based around killings that are planned for, and because of, humans 'rubber necking' response to horror and suffering. The fact that as soon as anything gruesome is filmed, the internet is swamped with gore watchers wanting to ogle the scenes. Maybee this is a natural human response, but our subject in this film uses it as a tool, i.e. the more people logging on to his 'untraceable' site, the faster his victims die, and in ever more interesting, and saw like, ways. This is a more than reasonable thriller killer that is definately worth a watch.

Rated - 2 starsUntraceable? Seen less transparency in tracing paper!

KrisRawk from Aberdeen [Highly rated reviewer] , 25/02/2008

For those who like their thrillers with a haphazard plotline that seems to have been no structure or fluidity to it at all will probably warm to Untraceable, a rather lumpen serial killer/psychological thriller whose narrative has been seen countless times before in other standardised serial killer/psychological thriller fare, yes you know what you're getting as soon as Untraceable begins until its bitter bombastic and rather anticlimactic ending.

However, the main thing that lets the film down is its complete and utter contempt for the audience's intelligence; are we meant to believe a person can run a website that cannot be traced in any way possible even if he does live in the same area as the FBI agents who are pursuing him? are we meant to believe a guy has more up-to-date latest state of the art technology at his disposal than the Federal Bureau Investigation 'Cyber Crime Department' agents have at their's?

You will find yourself wondering how stupid and absurd this film can possibly get as it trundles along to its obligatory hero-kills-the-big-bad-bogeyman cliched climax and offers no twists, turns or anything remotely innovative at all during its 1 Hour 35 Minutes running time.

A lame duck of a psychological thriller that tries hard to sit itself in between the likes of Hostel and Saw with its slightly gruesome torture/murder scenes and standard serial killer tripe such as Copycat and Taking Lives, not worth the waste of time but if you have time to kill(pardon the pun) then maybe Untraceable might be worth the watch.

Rated - 3 starsOK for a sub thriller / bogeyman / gratituous / statement on society film

VFF from London , 24/08/2008

My partner liked this film but then she got the choice and likes these thrillers/ scary psycho films.

It is part thriller, part bogeyman- psycho / part gratitious violence / torture. It springs from a prety right wing fear / philosophy about privacy / anonymity on the net as the extras makes clear. I didn't like the message behind the film. The right wing ideology behind the film is pretty heavily overdone.

Some of the reasoning about the plotting and the targets the psycho goes after is pretty lame and there are some logic jumps there.

For myself, Saw / Hostel type torture which are a bit gratitious, I don't really enjoy (even if it is fairly mildly done here in comparison to those films).

The acting is good and the film is effeciently put together. Its OK entertainment. A bit more sublty in the plotting would have been helpful. I give 3 my partner gives 3.5.
