In order to hone her craft, a plucky but penniless artist resorts to comical desperate measures: she steals guache from a local art dealer and takes a room in a convent in exchange for odd jobs. Inevitably, the sisters teach her a thing or two about abstaining from thievery, while the handsome art dealer teaches her about falling in love.
